  • Today the MFT DT and I are showcasing the Inspired by Flowers (set 3). B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L is all I can say! I was told by some very helpful people (thanks, Barb and Jody!) that this is a poppy. I don't know if they come in this color, but these are the colors I thought of when I first saw it. Ain't it gorgeous?! Nothing but fabulousness can be made with these bad boys! Oh, and that cool postage die framing the flower??? Yep, it's a new dienamic! Yeehaw!!! And I just love this big, bold sentiment that's included in the set. The sentiment is cut out with, you guessed it, the file tab dienamic. The kraft panel behind the main was embossed, not sure if you can tell. A couple of layers are popped up on dimensionals, white taffeta ribbon and some pearls finish it up.

Thanks again for stopping by! Don't forget to go to Kim's blog and leave comments on the dt blogs for a chance to win a $10 voucher!

    The card that almost wasn't...

***Check out Day 1 of MFT teasers in the post below!!!***

Oh, this sweet little PI looks innocent enough, but don't let her fool ya! She gave me such a hard time and I've got the ink on almost every finger to prove it! Really, it's not her fault and I can neither confirm nor deny that my not eating breakfast and having way too much coffee this morning had anything to do with the fits this card gave me. Yes, I just finished it this morning but that had nothing to do with it either... ok, maybe it did... *done whining* :)

I totally had different dp in mind when I was coloring this Sunflower Girl. Hope you don't mind me using this MME dp again because I just love it and well, it totally worked with her today! I think I'm starting to get used to these wonky panels, too! The sentiment is from the All Smiles set and was cut out using the file tab dienamic. Instead of the circle on the sketch, I just cut apart a Leafy flourish dienamic and placed it under the main panel. And yes, I did mean to leave her shoes white! They're actually colored in with a white gel pen... makes me think of those patent leather white shoes little girls wear. The scalloped edge on the main image panel was cut using the medium scallop dienamic. Yes, I loooove my dienamics!

    • Are y'all ready for a week full of FUN?!?! I know I AM!!! Up first is this month's Who's That Girl...

Er, I mean, Who's that Mummy! That is one sassy mummy! And don't you love that sentiment?! Ha! She is completely colored with copics (and a little bit of SU's barely banana marker). I drew the lines on the floor for a cool black and white tile look. I used 4 MFT dienamics on this card: dizzy doily duo, file tab, open zig zag border, and tag you're it. A button and a little gingham top off the tag. I added two more buttons, some faux stitching and two hand-stitched X's to finish it all off.

      Sketches make me happy!

Hi all! Well, the boys are back in school! I thought I was ready until I dropped off my middle one at middle school (the 9th grader caught the bus - ACK, one in high school!). Seeing my sweet middle child walking around those monstrous high schoolers (his campus is combined with the high school) freaked me out! I cried! Ugh. Then dropping off the 3rd grader wasn't any easier... but they all came home and said they had a pretty good day, so I felt better. On to the craftiness!
This week's sketch was a tough one for me! Something about skinny tilted panels... so I took the easy way out! Dienamics to the rescue! I finally broke down and got these Butterfly dienamics. Aren't they so pretty!?! I decided to go all Jackie Pedro on you and ruffle up some velvet ribbon. Maybe I should let Jackie do it since she's better? :) The only stamping is the sentiment, which is from the Triple Scoop promo set, All Smiles. I highlighted the word "You" with a marker. The sentiment was cut out using the File Tab dienamic, but I snipped off the edges so it looks like I just rounded the edges. The panel that the sentiment is attached to is up on pop dots because of the bulky ribbon. I added silver pearls to the butterflies, partly because I had to cover up a small boo-boo (he!), then added larger pearls to all four corners. On the inside, I simple added some dp cut out using Dizzy Border dienamic with another strip of dp on top.
Thanks for popping in! Be sure and check out the MFT Blog to see the list of designers working with the sketch this week!!!

      I like MFTWSC33 a latte!

Hi! Here's my take on this week's sketch challenge for MFT. I decided to go with a fave of mine, the Miss You a Latte a la mode. I paper pieced her pants and the part of the cups with my new MME six by six dp! Love! She's also cut "out of the box" (see her legs kinda hanging over the ribbon?). I split up the sentiment so it would fit in a circle and added a blingie circle that I got from M's a while ago. I used the Mini Ticket border dienamic and highlighted the cut out notches with extra bling. Lots of dp used here and I LOVE it!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to swing by the MFT BLOG to see the list of amazing designers participating in the sketch!

      Berry sweet

Hi! Yes, I stamped again! I'm on a roll and I love it!
Here's a card I made for one of Flourishes release challenges which you can see here. I love coloring the images from Flourishes sets! Used various copics for the berries and leaves and outlined the image using SU's barely banana marker. I sponged around the main image with saffron ink. I used riding hood red to sponge the center of the sentiment panel, which is up on dimensionals. The moss panel behind the main image was stamped using one of the leaf images in versamark from the same set. I used my moss SU marker to add more color to the leaves. I'm happy that I got to use up some old SU dp and riding hood taffeta ribbon. Added a button, some bling and faux stitching to finish it all up!

      Thanks for stopping by!

      Boyish birthday tag

Hi! Gee, can you tell I have "birthday" on the brain?!! My BABY will be 8 on Saturday (he's the cutie wearing the birthday boy pin that I made a few posts below)!!! ACK! Makes me sad, but he is thrilled to be turning a year older. *sigh*
Anyway, he's a tag I made for Verve's Get Your Diva On challenge, which was, duh, to use tags. It felt SO good to use up one of the SU chipboard tags I've had, honestly, for years! I covered the tag with some dp, then sanded and sponged the edges in
brown. That sweet sentiment is from their Birthday Bash set, as are the two balloons which I paper pieced and popped up on dimensionals. I cut out the sentiment using Verve's Charming Oval dies and layered it over two different nesties. The corrugated border strip is an MFT border die. I added the button, which may look like it's actually attached to the twine from the balloons, but it's not! hehe! Some green metal bling finishes it up - I thought as long as the "bling" is a boy color and metal, it'd be ok to add to this grungy-boyish tag! Whatcha think? Here's a pic highlighting more of the texture:

As always, thanks for stopping by! I truly appreciate your comments!

Thinking of the latest MFT sketch!

Hi! One of the perks of being a guest designer for MFT is getting to post the weekly sketch challenges with the rest of the design team. So here ya have it - MFTWSC32! I love me a good sketch and THIS is a great sketch! I paired this sweet Are We There Yet PI with a sentiment from the Because You're Special PI. I colored her with copics and added "texture" to her purse with my colorless blender - I wanted it to look like a blue jean-type fabric. Other MFT goodies I used were the You Move Me die, which is under the main image, one of the mini rolled rose dies, the medium scallop border die and honeydew twine. A double row of faux stitching finishes it all off! Check out Kim's Blog to see the list of the AMAZING design team so you can check out their fabulousness with this sketch!

And here's a peek at the inside of my card...

      Beautiful friend and AWESOME news!

Hi! Have a great weekend?! Ours was nice, nothing crazy, had some fun with friends, etc... Dh left yesterday for a work trip for the week, so I had some crafty time last night! I made this one for the latest MFT sketch challenge. The bird and sentiment are from their Inspired by Spring set. I'm really trying, as are a lot of you from what I see in blogland, to use up the DP that I have on hand. I've barely touched this Basic Grey paper pack and thought the bird would look cool colored to match this pretty paper. This card is a 4.25" square card and the base is SU's going gray (I believe!). The doily is an MFT dienamic (*love*). Mr. Bird is popped up on a dimensional, added some taffeta ribbon, a fancy brad and made a sentiment banner to finish it up.
      Thanks for taking a peek!

Oh, yea, you want to hear my AWESOME news?!!!!? Remember that cool birthday boy pin I made for the MFT guest designer challenge?? Well, I WON!!!!! Yes, ma'am!!!!! I will get to show off next month's sneaks with the rest of their AMAZINGLY TALENTED design team!!! ME!!!!! A "no one" in the stamping world! Unfrigginbelievable, huh?!?!!!! I'm B-E-Y-O-N-D excited!!!!!!!!!! Ok, thanks for letting me share that news with you!

      Birthday boy pin

Hi all! Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I had some time to get crafty today and worked on my entry for this month's MFT guest DT challenge. My youngest will turn 8 (gasp!) in a couple of weeks, so he was my inspiration for this pin. I had a BLAST making this! The boy is from their Ahoy Matey set. He normally has an eye patch over his right eye and a scarf on his head, not to mention his entire lower body! I only inked up part of his face and upper body so that I could add his right "eye" and a birthday hat! Fun, right?! His hat (and the pointy "spikes" around the outsi
de of the pin) were made using one of their banner dies ( I forget the name!). I also used two of the dizzy doily dienamics, the fishtail banner dienamics and the dienamic that comes with the You Move Me set. LOVE 'em all!!! The kraft colored piece I have the boy mounted on is actually a piece of corrugated paper I've had forever and finally used! OH! Almost forgot... the red strip is one of their border dienamics, too! Dimensionals and two embossing folders add LOTS of texture and, well, dimension! The glitter brad was "approved" by my soon-to-be 8 y.o. - as long as it was green! He thought the pin was pretty cool and proudly showed his brothers! Yay!!! :) Here's a pic of him wearing it:

      Ain't he cute?!!!

Ok, well, wish me luck and have a great week!

      Hugs,
