Happy Birthday!

Hi all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  Well, still a few more hours to go for us ~ we're hanging out at home, playing games and watching Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve.  Good times ;)  Since we've been relaxing all day {and with my birthday tomorrow, yep New Year's Day!}, I found some time to get stampy.  This card uses the SCS Technique challenge - Chalkboard and this week's MFT sketch.  With the birth of a new year and my birthday all in one day, why not make a birthday card?!  I broke out MFT's Let's Toast set and die-namics.  The "Happy Birthday" was embossed with white ep, then I used some white ink to sponge around the edge to get more of that "chalkboard" look and added the stars.  The circles on the wine glasses make me think of bubbly champagne.  I added stickles to the rim of the glasses.  The sentiment was cut out with the Labels STAX 2.  The banner was made using the Banner Day Die.

Close up...

As always, thanks for stopping by!!!  I sure do appreciate all of you that stop by and leave such sweet comments ;)  Be safe and may 2013 bring MANY BLESSINGS your way!!!!

The Only One

Hi all!  I am enjoying the 1st day of my 4 day weekend.  ;)  Now that Christmas is behind us, I thought I'd get a jump on Valentine's Day.  I used the latest Triple Scoop Set from MFT.  I wanted to try out that chalkboard look I've seen around lately.  The sentiment and hearts are embossed with white embossing powder.  Then I added some light sponging with white craft ink for a chalk effect.  The sketch is from the SplitCoast Dirty Dozen December theme.

Black twill and thread from Ribbon Carousel, MFT felt and dienamics along with some paper piercing add the finishing details.

Merry Elfmas Tag

Hi all!  I wanted to share this tag I made for the Totally Stampalicious Blog challenge for last week, The Challenge Chicks challenge and the Splitcoast Dirty Dozen inspiration challenge.  I used Deacon Elf, which I colored with copics then cut out.  The swirly "snow"is a part of the Sentimental Flourish that is newly release by MFT.  I sponged a little blue versamagic ink around the blue layer.  The "to" and "from" were hand written because I plan to use this for my Secret Santa gift at work.  ;)

Detail shot...

The tags are the Traditional Tag Stax from MFT.  I added some piercing around the larger tag, then some hemp and twine.

TS Monday - Clean and Simple {CAS} - MONS-terrific!

Hi all!  This week over on the Totally Stampalicious blog, our challenge is for you to make a Clean And Simple card/project.  I decided to use the newly released Mons-terrific set.  I thought this silly monster would make a perfect birthday card for my sweet nephew.  I used a dotted technique to add some dimension.  I ran the green layer through my Vagabond with an embossing folder (dots, of course, to add to the dots on the monsters), then added a sentiment flag and a button with twine.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to check out the rest of the DT projects!

Christmas cards

Hi all!  I wanted to share a couple of cards I made recently for a friend that placed an order. ;)  I kept these simple - just a nice sentiment {one from a Flourishes set and one from a Sweet n' Sassy stamps set I received from a wonderful stampy friend} cut out using die-namics, pretty ribbon, pearl flourishes on one, MFT flourishes on the other.  Add some lovely dp and done.
