I couldn't be happier for you!

***If you are here for my TAWS Blog Hop post, please scroll down***

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for fun using MFT's current color challenge #20.  I couldn't wait to play around with their simply circle background stamp which I ordered through Butterfly Reflections Ink.  Can you say CRAZY FAST SHIPPING??!!!  I highly recommend shopping here - Vanessa is a super cool chick who loves her customers!  :)  Ok, so back to the card - I embossed the background with clear embossing powder then used grapesicle and grape jelly inks to color in the circles.  I inked up my craft mat and picked up the ink with my SU aqua painter, so the colors is soft.  I just added more of the darker grape jelly ink here and there to give more dimension.  The flower and leaves are from the LJD Circle Scribble Flowers and dies plus the scribbles die-namics.  The sentiment is from the Totally Happy stamp set and was stamped on vellum with black licorice pigment ink, which I heat set to avoid smudging.  Other die-namics used are my pierced circle STAX, pierced fishtail flag STAX and Blueprints 13.  The sketch is the SSSC266.  A few ivory gumdrops finish it off!

TAWS Sneak Peeks Day 2 - Keep Your Fin Up

Hi all!  Welcome to DAY 2 of TAWS May Sneak Peeks!!!  This release is FIN-tastic, lol!  Here's an image and sentiment from the Something's Fishy set.  I stamped the fish over paper I had already watercolored then added glossy accents to him.  I wanted him to look like a wall-mounted fish, so I made his plaque with dp, thread and an enamel dot.  This set is just SO fun!

Bunches of love

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using some of the flower elements from the TAWS Say It Don't Spray It set along with a sentiment from Awesome Blossom.  I used the selective inking technique in order to stamp the sentiment in a line then heat embossed it with white EP.  This follows the SSSC265 sketch and the CQ288 color challenges.

Thanks for stopping by and {as always} hop on over to the TAWS blog for more inspiration!!!

YNS Feature Day - Make a wish!

Hi all!  It's Feature Day over on the YNS blog and this month the challenge was to make anything BUT a standard A2 sized card.  So, round it is!  I had to use the Waddles - Happy Brrr-thday set again because, well, look at this guy!  The whole set is just too stinkin' cute!  I used the matching dies to cut him out after coloring him with Copics. To make the round card base, I took a standard A2 top-folding base and placed my circle die so that just enough of it was hanging over the folded edge so that it wouldn't cut it.  Clear as mud?  ;)  The sentiment is stamped on the larger of the 3D banner dies.  A few pink lemonade gumdrops add a extra sparkle.

Watercolored thanks

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using two older TAWS sets (aka - my Flashback card!) - Line Upon Line and Jibber Jabber.  First off, I totally love the Line Upon Line background image!  I inked it up with distress markers and stamped it onto watercolor paper.  Then I spritzed it with water, then let it dry.  Then I took my aqua painter and lightly brushed over the lines to blur them a bit more, spritzed a little more water, then blasted it with my heat gun.  That's it.  Done!  So easy!  I added a tiny strip of glittered paper, then embossed the sentiment with white EP onto black card stock.  One weird thing is the pearls that look black in the pic are actually silver, but what are ya gonna do?!  ;)

MFTWSC224- You Rock!

Hi all!  Here's a card I made just for fun using the MFTWSC224 sketch.  I finally inked up the Keep on Rockin' set.  I just hate when I have sets sitting there begging to be used!  I inked up the equalizer image with distress markers then cut it at an angle.  I stamped the sentiment onto Blu Raspberry card stock in black licorice and colored in the star with a yellow Copic.  I added the music notes with grout gray ink.  Both panels were cut out using the stitched rounded rectangle STAX.  I was so excited when I came up with the album idea for the circle elements on the bottom of the sketch!  I used different Circle STAX then punched holes with my good ol' Crop-o-dile.

YNS DT Dare - Tweet! Tweet!

Hi all!  It's DT Dare time on the YNS Blog and this month the dare was to create something with a Feminine theme.  I used the Word Critters Collection - Spring Birds stamp set.  These are just THE cutest little birds!  I fussy cut them along with two branches and layered them over scalloped square from the peek a boo doors die set.  And I couldn't resist using the stitched rectangles dies again ;)

YNS Fun Friday - Have a cool birthday!

Hi all!  It's been one of those week's that make me truly say TGIF!!!!  We have a new sketch and color challenge for you over on the YNS Blog, so let's get to it!  I went with the color challenge for my card and used the newly release Waddles - Happy Brrr-thday set and matching dies!  I also used the stitched loop border die as 'party streamers'.  I colored this sweet little penguin with Copics.  So, Amy Rohl posted a card and linked the background technique she used HERE.  I've watched Laura Bassen's videos before and love her - if you haven't watched one yet, I suggest that you do, she's pretty entertaining.  :)  After watching her video, I decided to give her technique a try and this is the result!  Seriously, first try and I'm hooked!  It's SO easy, no way to make a mistake!  I used colors of distress markers to match the ice cream so that it looks like the ice cream dripped.  The watercolor paper was cut out using the newly release stitched rectangles dies.  I will point out that I used watercolor paper that I got from Hobby Lobby.   A few holly berry red gumdrops add a little extra fun to the card (and they go along with the color challenge!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Check out the YNS Blog for more inspiration and play along for your chance to WIN!

Sparkle and Shine

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the TAWS sets Feeling Groovy and Say It Don't Spray It.  I love how versatile the Feeling Groovy set is - those 'starbursts' or whatever they're called, really make a cool looking background!  A few gold sequins add some sparkle.  :)  The white card stock is MFT's primitive white.  I like it because of the flecks that are in the paper, just adds a little something to it.  The sketch is the FMS182 and the color combo is from the CTD338.  The sentiment was cut out with the newly release YNS stitched rectangles dies.

Your Next Stamp April New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all!  Welcome to the YNS April New Release Blog Hop!  We have SO much in store for you so let's get to it!

I am beyond excited for this set because it just PERFECT for masculine cards - it is called For the Boys, after all!  ;)  Because these are masculine cards, I kept them pretty CAS, only adding gumdrops for embellishments.  I love the new Stitched Rectangles dies, so I also used them a lot on these two cards.

How fun is that pitcher of beer?  Lol!  I went for more of a Shiner Bock beer (color wise), rather than say, a Coors Light. ;)

The hop only lasts until 17 April so be sure to comment before then for your chance to win!

And look!!!  Here's a code for 20% off your entire order!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!!!!

You are so beautiful...

Hi all!  Here's a CAS card I made using one of the images from Phone Home and a sentiment from Say It Don't Spray It.  The background was done using a technique Jennifer McGuire showed on her blog a few weeks back.  I used an MFT stencil, sponged on sweet tooth pigment ink, heat dried it, then off set the stencil slightly and sponged it with grape jelly ink.

Your Next Stamp - Sneak Peek Day!

Hi all!  It's Sneak Peek time for this month's YNS New Release!  I am sneaking the new Waddles - Happy Brrr-thday set that have matching dies!  YAY!  I truly adore these little penguins!!!  I colored them with Copics then used the matching dies to cut them out.  Seriously, look at these guys! What's not to love??! I also used a few different gumdrop colors - lemon, pumpkin and blue raspberry.  And the orange dp was cut out using the NEW Stitched Rectangle Dies!  Double YAY!

Greetings Earthling

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the TAWS set Phone Home, along with two of the stars in the mini Blast Off set.  How cute is that little blue guy?  He's popped up on foam adhesive so it looks like he's hovering over his home planet.  The planet was done using reinkers, swirling the ink around with water and a paint brush, heat setting it, then spritzing it with a little more water, then heat setting one more time.  The stars are stamped in sweet tooth ink, as is the sentiment.

Groovy, baby!

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the newly released TAWS sets - Feeling Groovy and Far Out which is the FREE when you spend $40 set for this month!  I love how the guy from the Feeling Groovy set goes with the girl from Far Out.  I colored her dress and his shirt and bandana so that they looked tie-dyed.  :)  I used dp and card stock that had a 70's feel.  This couple totally reminds me of my mom and stepdad.  The sentiment is embossed with white EP.  The sketch is from the SSSC263.

Hello

Hi all!  I wanted to share a card I made for a couple of challenges just FOR FUN!  ;)  The sketch is from the MFTWSC222 and the colors are based on the MFT CC18.  I dropped a trio of reinkers onto some damp watercolor paper then lightly swirled it around.  Once I was happy with it, I blasted it with my heat gun.  Once dry, I spritzed more water on top, let them set for several seconds, then soaked them up with a paper towel then blasted it again with my heat gun.  I just LOVE how it turned out!  I used the circle element from Blueprints 12 to cut out the watercolored circle and to get the stitched design on the larger primitive white layer.  The hello die-namic was cut out with primitive white card stock twice and kraft card stock once.   Then I layered them, while slightly off-setting the colors for a shadowed effect.  The 2 smaller stars are from Blueprints 13 and the larger one is from the stacking stars die-namics.

You may be able to see in this pic that I added some sparkle to the stars using my clear Wink of Stella marker.
