TAWS New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all!  Welcome to the TAWS New Release Blog Hop!  This is one super fun release and we have lots of goodies for you to see, so let's get started!  For my card, I'm featuring this month's FREE when you spend $40 set called Brain Freeze (don't you love the names of TAWS sets?!).  The sentiment is from the Slurp stamp set - these two work so well together!  I colored the ice cream cone using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers again.  I'm loving them more and more each time I use them!  I then fussy cut it and popped it up on foam adhesive.  I was inspired by the recent Curtain Call Challenge for my colors.  The gold striped around the larger layer are actually strips of Washi Tape over white card stock.

Be sure to stop by the TAWS BLOG and comment for a chance to WIN ALL THREE SETS!  Anni is next up on the hop!

YNS Fun Friday - Sending Smiles

Hi all!  HAPPY Friday!  It's time for a new YNS Fun Friday sketch and inspiration pic!  I decided to use the sketch with one of the cute critters from Woodland Cuties.  I colored him with my trusty Copics then used the matching dies to cut him out.  I totally love the sentiment font in this set!  How cute is he sitting in the spring grass die?!  I also used the largest of the stitched rectangle dies for the smooth white and dp layer.  I'm working hard to #BringBackBrads (lol!) so I added some to the corners.

TAWS Sneak Peek Time!

Hi all!  It's TAWS NEW RELEASE TIME  which means we get to show you some Sneak Peeks!!!

I'm so excited for this release, so let's just get to it!  Here's my card featuring the new stamp set called Lite Brite.  I don't know about y'all but I loved my Lite Brite when I was a kid!!!  This set has lots of great sentiments!  I embossed "Hugs" with white EP and once cooled, I colored over it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers then lightly wiped them with a paper towel to take away any excess ink.  I love the hint of rainbow colors and that they match the background.  Speaking of background ~  I swiped the Line Upon Line stamp with those same Zig markers then I took a piece of watercolor paper, spritzed it with water, then pressed the inked stamp onto the damp paper.  Voila!  Seriously, THAT easy!  :)  The black and white strips are actually Washi Tape.

Thanks for stopping by!  DON'T FORGET to hop over to the TAWS Blog to see more projects from the DT using the LITE BRITE STAMP SET and comment for your chance to WIN!

Happy Birthday

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the MFTWSC229 sketch.  I colored the garden flourish BG stamp with my Zig pens, then pressed it onto some watercolor paper that I had spritzed with water.  Voila!  That simple!  The sentiment is from the Totally Happy stamp set.  I used both sets of the LJD circle scribble flowers die-namics to create the flowers and used the matching stamp set for the leaves.

Hooked on you

Hi all!  Here's another CAS card I made using the TAWS May FREE when you spend $40 (hurry - time's almost up to get this freebie!) called Gill-friend.  I colored the fish with the Zig markers again ~ starting to like them a bit more ~ then fussy cut him.  The hook is also from the set, then I used a black SU marker to draw the fishing line.  I inked up the sentiment, again, also from this set, separately and stamped them on circles cut out using my circle STAX.  They are embossed with white embossing powder, then popped up on pop dots.  The card base and circles are old SU pool party card stock that I sponged with nightshift blue, blueberry and summer splash inks.

YNS - Feature Time - Birthday Wishes

Hi all!  I hope you're all enjoying your weekend and also take some time to think about others who have sacrificed their lives in order for you to have the freedom that you know today.

On another note, it's Feature Day over on the YNS Blog!

This time we had to CASE another DT member's work.  I chose to CASE Tracy's super sweet owl card from our May blog hop HERE.  I used one of the images from Dino-mite!  And guess what?  I didn't use my Copics!  I'm giving the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens a try.  So far, they're ok.  Definitely need to play around with them a bit more before I can really give my opinion on them.  I also used the matching dies to cut out the dino.  The sentiment is from Whatnot sentiments set four.  I used my fave rectangle stitched dies for a couple of the layers and added some brads.

Welcome little squirt

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using images from Little Fellas and All Washed Up. So I gotta say that I love how this background turned out!  I left the belugas uncolored since they're white/light grayish in real life (I think, anyway!).  I stamped the images and embossed them on watercolor paper.  I'm so glad that I embossed them because it helped me control where the direction of the ink and water.  I stamped out the sentiment one word at a time so that it would fit on the banner.  The circle layer is popped up on foam adhesive.

Make a splash

Hi all!  Here's a pretty clean and simple card I made using some images from Something's Fishy, All Washed Up and the Free with $40 set, Gill-Friend.  I stamped and embossed the images.  Next, I took my distress markers and added lines of color here and there, then used my aqua painter to blend them until I was happy.  ;)  I added a few 'bubbles's near the fish with glossy accents.

YNS Fun Friday - Welcome Little Ones

Hi all!  It's Friday - YAY! - and time for a new YNS sketch and inspiration pic!  I chose to work with the sketch the this cutie from the newly release Woodland Cuties stamp set.  I colored him with Copics then cut him out with the matching dies.  I used primitive white card stock and a woodgrain dp for the remainder of the card.  I used the rid rac border die for the stripes.  The hearts are from the new confetti die (can you say shaker cards?!?).  I covered them with glossy accents, which you can see in the second pic, so they looked like enamel embellishments.  I used the rectangle stitched dies {which are back in stock!} for all of the layers.  And yes, I added the 's' at the end of the sentiment because I plan to send this to a friend who just adopted two sweet kiddos.  :)

Hey little fella

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the TAWS set Little Fellas and this month's FREE when you spend $40 set, Gill-Friend.  I'm loving that this month's release works so well with watercoloring!  I used distress markers for the background and colored the images with Copics.  I added some coral on the bottom so it looked more like the bottom of the ocean.  :)  I also added clear Wink of Stella shimmer to the starfish, which you can see in the 2nd pic...

YNS DT Dare - Dreamy Bookmark

Hi all!  It's time for another YNS DT Dare and this time it was to add any type of stitching and YNS gumdrops to your project.  I decided to use Little Darling Rapunzel to make a bookmark for my niece.  Everything is colored with Copics and I added some shimmer with my clear Wink of Stella marker to her crown, bow, dress and all of the hearts.  I used the stitched line die on the bottom and a couple sparkly pink gumdrops near the hearts.  My niece loves all things pink, purple and sparkly!  I broke out my Crop-o-dile and an eyelet, along with some white and silver twine to add the finishing details.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to check out the YNS Blog to see what the rest of the DT cooked up for ya!  ;)

I love you a ton

Hi all!  Here's a very CAS card I made using a whale from the Something's Fishy set along with a sentiment from All Washed Up.  I know I've said it, but I just LOVE howe well the sets from this month's release coordinate!  I colored this big guy with Copics, then fussy cut him.  I chose this dp because I felt like it looked like waves of water.  A couple of matching gumdrops add a little extra detail.

YNS New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all!  First, Happy Mother's Day!!!  Second, Welcome to the YNS New Release Blog Hop for May!      Before we get to business, here's a peek at one of my cards...  ;)

So, I'm sure you saw yesterday's sneak peeks which means you know how AWESOME this release is and I'm so excited for you to see all the gorgeousness in today's Hop!

Now that you know the details, let's get TO IT!  Both of my cards feature the set, Maki A Wish, along with the matching dies.  I love this sentiment, so I thought I'd feature a plate of wasabi and use the sushi rolls as a background.  :)  SO fun!  I colored it with Copics, then cut it with the matching dies.  I used one of the stitching holes dies for the edge of the steel blue card stock.  One of the open scallop dies frames the plate of wasabi.  A few perfectly matched kiwi gumdrops finish it up.

For this card, I used the bowl of soy sauce image and this fun sentiment!  Again, I colored it with Copics and used the matching dies to cut out the image.  I used a few lemon gumdrops for an extra pop of color.  The sketch is the FMS185.

As always, be sure to comment as you hop for your chance to WIN!!!  And of course, we have a sale for you!!!!  :D

YNS Sneak Peek - Hey there cutie!

Hi all!  Welcome to the YNS May Sneak Peeks!!!  This release is SO FUN!  For my sneak, I used the most adorable fox in the world from the Woodland Cuties stamp set ~ which also has matching dies!  Yay!  I colored him up with Copics then went to work on the rest of my scene.  The grass and flowers were cut out using the Spring Grass Die.  I sponged the edges of the grass with jellybean green ink.  I filled the flower centers with pink lemonade and sparkly pink gumdrops, and a few with liquid pearls.  For the sky, I sponged summer splash, Blu raspberry and blueberry inks onto a piece of summer splash splash card stock until I was happy with the look.  I used two of the stitched rectangle dies to create a frame then layered everything onto a grout gray card base.  I used foam adhesive to pop up the fox.  I seriously love this little guy!  The sentiment is also from the set - how cute is that font!?

Alright, now head on over to the YNS Blog to see more sneak peeks then get your wallets ready because the New Release Hop is tomorrow!  :D

Best Fishes

Hi all!  Ok, let me just say how much I love this card!  :D  It sort of had a mind of it's own but I love how it turned out.  I used lots of TAWS newly released sets - the fish and green seaweed are from the FREE when you spend $40 set, Gill-Friend.  The starfish is from Something's Fishy, the coral is from Little Fellas and the sentiment is from All Washed Up.  They all coordinate so well - love!!!  I sponged the circles with summer splash, Blu Raspberry and blueberry inks.  The fish, starfish and seaweed was colored with Copics.  A few blue raspberry gumdrops help add to the underwater 'bubble' look.  And I had to add some clear Wink of Stella glitter to the fish ;)
