TAWS New Release Blog Hop - Birthday wishes

Hi all!  Welcome to the September TAWS New Release Blog Hop!!!  We're so excited for this release and there's LOTS to see, so let's get to it!

My card today features the Flap Happy set!  I adore the birds in this set!  There are lots of them and they're all just too cute!  I colored up 5 of them (see, I said there were lots!) and fussy cut them.  I placed them on a wire which the big guy is weighing down, lol!  See that little one on the left looking at him like "hey man, what do you think you're doing??!", ha!  I popped them up over a watercolored background I created using distress inks.  I cut out and popped up the center of the watercoloring for extra interest.  The sentiment is from the new It's My Party stamp set.

Next up on the hop is Archana so be sure to hop over to her blog HERE.  Don't forget to comment on the TAWS Blog for your chance to win ALL 3 sets!!

Hello, Sunshine

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the latest MFT sketch challenge, MFTWSC243.  I miss the plumeria tree we had in the front of our house in Hawaii!  Seems soooooo long ago!  I created the background by stamping one of the images from BB Polynesian Paradise, then colored everything in with my Zig pens.  I used one of my square STAX to cut the inside of the black frame and the large square from Blueprints 12 to cut out the main part, which allowed me to make this a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch square card.  I stamped the simply circles BG onto the lemon drop card base, then inked the edges with lemon drop ink.  I used the stitched strip from Blueprints 1 (which is my go-to for sentiment strips, it seems) to cut out the primitive white card stock then added my sentiment.

Let's Party - TAWS Sneak Peek Day 2!

Hi all!  It's Sneak Peek time over on the TAWS Blog - wahoo!!!  This is such a fabulous release, so let's get to it!  Today we are featuring the sentiment set called Big Time.  Love, LOVE this set!  So, you may have seen Francine's videos (here)on sponging using acetate.  Well, I decided to try it with squares!  I took a piece of acetate and cut out a square using dies.  I then penciled on a straight line as a guide.  After that, I just eye-balled where I placed my square and sponged from the outer edges in.  It was fairly easy and rather therapeutic. :)  Once that was done, I embossed 'Party' slightly off center, then added 'Let's' right above it.  A few sequins and voila!

There is more to see over on the TAWS Blog!  Check back every day for more peeks of different sets each day and then we have our big Blog Hop on Monday!!!

Warm wishes & sunny smiles

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the MFTWSC242.  I colored the Blissful Blooms with Copics, then fussy cut (don't have the matching die-namics yet).  The chevron background was created with the large chevron stripes stencil except that when I sponged them with grout gray, I only sponged from the top of the stencil rather than fill in the entire stripe.  I used my oval STAX to cut out the center then sponged lemon drop ink onto the edges of banana split card stock.

Happy Everything

Hi all!  Here's another card using the FREE when you spend $40 TAWS set called Unique Peek.  I totally love this flower!  I stamped it in pink lemonade onto pink lemonade card stock, then used a pink Copic marker to lightly color in parts of the petals. I kept it clean and simple and added a single button and some silver and white twine.  The sketch is the CTS137.

Thanks for stopping by!  Seriously!  I really, really do appreciate it!

YNS Feature Day - Celebrate!

Hi all!  It's Feature Day over on the YNS Blog and our theme is Celebrate!  I created a watercolored background using distress markers.  I had colored a separate piece with the same two colors and used the balloon buddies dies to cut out the balloons after I embossed them with Versamark.  The sentiment is from the 2015 YNS Birthday stamp set that is FREE when you spend $40 this month!  A couple of black gumdrops balance everything.  I used the FMS200 sketch again :D

Happy sweet birthday!

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  It's time for a new YNS inspiration and sketch challenge!  I used the sketch for my 'sweet' birthday card.  The ice cream cone is from the Zero Calories stamp set.  I used the matching dies to cut it out then popped it up on foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from the 2015 birthday stamp set that is FREE when you spend $40 this month!  I used my stitched rectangle dies for two of the layers.  Bubblegum and sparkly pink gumdrops add extra detail.

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the TAWS Penguins on Parade set - except I made my penguin a baby chick, hehe!  I colored him with Copics then fussy cut him.  I created the background using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens.  The sentiment was embossed with sea foam white EP.  The sketch is from the FMS200, just turned upside-down.

You mean the world to me

Hi all!  I wanted to share this card that I made during my gig as one of the Dirty Dozen Girls over on SCS.  I love that 'little' stamping community!  I've been a member since 2006 (yikes!) and still chat with many of the ladies I met on that site - shout out to the Challenge Chasers!  Alright...  on to the card. ;)  I stamped the MFT abstract background stamp with Versamark then embossed with clear EP onto watercolor paper.  I then used various ink refills to color in my 'globe'.  Once dried, I cut it out with my Circle STAX, then popped it up onto grout gray card stock.  The sentiment was spelled out using the Express Yourself stamp set (love!).  I rounded the bottom corners of the card stock for a little extra interest.  Pretty simple, but I so love how it turned out!

Be yourself...

Hi all!  Here's a 'wonky' card I made using the FREE when you spend $40 TAWS stamp set called Unique Peek.  I was inspired by the sentiment that is also in the set to color my flower a bit 'wonky'.  BUT, I didn't stop there!  I threw in some blue die-cut leaves, an angled layer and an embossed card base because why not!  :D

Love a man in uniform

Hi all!  First, a little shout out to my youngest - Happy 12th Birthday, B!!!!  Here is a fun card using the TAWS Penguins on Parade and Happy Hero stamp sets.  Lol, I love this guy!  You know Batman only likes black and other shades of black, ha!  {doesn't he say that in the Lego movie??} I used a few stamps to build this character then colored him with Copics.  The sentiment is from the Happy Hero set and is embossed with white EP.

Happy shaker Birthday!

Hi all!  It's time for another YNS DT Dare and this time it's time to shake it, baby!  For my card I'm using the newly released Wheelie Fun set and matching dies!  I colored this fun guy with Copics and popped him up on foam adhesive inside the shaker.  Some of the confetti/sequins inside was cut out using the confetti die.  The plaid dp was cut out using the stitched rectangle dies then I simply cut it at an angle to make it more interesting.  I added the stitching marks to the die cut circle using the circles - stitching marks die set.

Now hop on over to the YNS BLOG and leave a comment for your chance to WIN a stamp set of your choice!!!  Wahoo!!!
