TAWS New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all!  Welcome to the TAWS New Release Blog Hop!  Today I'm featuring the Wigwam set!  How CUTE is this teepee?!  And you get to add extra little elements to it, for example, on mine I added the little man and woman figures.  FUN!  So, remember back in the day when it was THE THING to dampen your card stock and crumple it up?  Yep, a little blast from the past here.  I stamped on my kraft card stock, then dampened it, crumpled it, then laid it out and blasted it with my heat gun.  Some of the images washed away a little too much, so I simply re-stamped them.  I then sponged on some kraft and chocolate ink to really give it a weathered look.  I adhered it off center, added a couple of brads and some thread.  Love the fun sentiment that comes with it ;)

Here is the super adorable Mini Set, Buff, which is FREE when you spend $40.00
or more during the month of March 2015.

So, are you ready to hop???!!!

Don't forget to head over to the TAWS BLOG to enter for your chance to win ALL THREE NEW SETS!!!

TAWS Sneak Peek Day 2 - Yappy!

Hi all!  Welcome to day 2 of The Alley Way Stamps sneak peeks!!!  Today we are featuring the set called Yappy!  Cute, right?  In case you couldn't tell by the name, this set is filled with nothing but COOL sentiments.  I love the font!
For my card, I used a rainbow of colors ~ MFT's Wild Cherry, Orange Fizz, Lemon Drop, Jellybean green, Blu Raspberry, Blueberry and Grape Jelly ~ and a trio of gumdrops and enamel dots to feature my Happy Birthday sentiment.  I penciled some lines on my primitive white card stock then used this cool tool to stamp all of the words - it's called MY EYEBALLS!  LOL!  Sorry, I couldn't help it!  ;)  But seriously, I just thought 'let me see if I can do this' and I'm happy {lol, I guess pun intended?!} with how it turned out, because goodness knows it doesn't always work out how I wish!

Thanks for stopping by!  Stop by the TAWS Blog to see how you can WIN the Yappy Set!!!

Newton's Nook Designs - One layer card peek

Hi all!  Here's a peek of the card I made for the current Newton's Nook Designs challenge to create a one-layer card.  Hop on over to the NND Blog and check it out!  :D
*edited to add ~ I've had a few people ask how I colored the kitty.  I took a small-tipped paint brush and brushed it directly onto my sweet tooth ink pad.  The I just painted on the ink, small areas at a time, until I was happy with how it looked.  I tried stamping the ink onto my craft mat then picking it up with my aqua painter but it was too faint, so I went with the direct method.  Hope this helps!

YNS Feature Day - Think Spring!

Hi all!  We're having a special Feature Day post over on the YNS Blog using two JUST RELEASED stamp sets!  Yes, they are available NOW ~ YAY!  And look ~ you can win a YNS stamp set of your choice:

For my card, I used Little Darling Katlyn.  This is such a sweet little set that also includes a bunny, some hearts and several sentiments.  Love!  I colored her with Copics then fussy cut her.  To get the stitched lines in the yellow dp, I used the Stitched Line Die.  The happy die cut is from the Scripty Words die set, then I used one of the sentiments from the set and only inked up "Easter" to complete my sentiment for this card.  I've been going gumdrop crazy lately!  Here, I used green apple, ivory and sparkly pink gumdrops.

YNS Fun Friday - Congratulations

Hi all!  Cheers for another Friday!  We have a new sketch and color challenge for you over on the YNS Blog!  FUN!  Those are my favorite types of challenges ~ and I used both of this week's challenges on my card!  I used the Whatnot Sentiments Set Four - so many great sentiments all in one sweet set!  I used the two smallest dies from the new Stitching Marks circle die set to make all those fun circles.  And what perfect way to use up some of those gumdrops you have!  I used blue raspberry, pumpkin, ivory and lemon gumdrops to match the colors of our challenge.  This card was so fun and easy to make!  The sentiment {which I just love}was stamped in black licorice and tangy orange inks by MFT.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to play along with us for your chance to WIN!

For you deer friend

Don't forget to brush

Hi all!  I wanted to share this CAS card I made using the TAWS Tootharina set.  I colored the toothbrush and toothpaste with Copics, fussy cut them, then popped them up over some dp.  I used an element from my Blueprints 20 to add that fun chevron border.  The sentiment is stamped on a strip cut out from a different blueprints set.  The DP is from the True Friend paper pack.  The sketch is from SSSC256.

Hi all!  Here's a CAS (clean and simple) 4x4 square card I made using the Branching Out set that we just released this month.  I stamped the trees in steel blue ink, then used my aqua painter and some grout gray ink to add just a little shading to them.  I colored the birdhouse with my Copics, then fussy cut it and popped it up on foam adhesive.  The "hugs" sentiment is from the FREE when you spend $40 set called Moosing You - it is so stinkin' cute!!!

YNS DT Dare - For my prehistoric friend

Hi all!  Welcome to the YNS DT Dare post!  This time, our challenge was to use at least 3 gumdrops, 2 dies and 1 stamp.  For my card, I colored up one of the Dinos from the Dino-Mite set.  Seriously, one of the new favorite sets!  I also used the matching dies to cut him out.  To make him pop, I used one of the circles from the Circles Die Set to layer behind my dotted dino.  I used an older sketch from the challenges on SCS except instead of a card stock layer, I used the Stitching Holes die set behind the main image.  A trio of sparkly pink gumdrops draw your eye to the fun sentiment.

Your Next Stamp New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all and welcome to the February YNS New Release Blog Hop!

We have SO many fun sets for you this month, along with a gorgeous sentiment set, which I'm featuring today!  So let's get to it!  This set is called Whatnot Sentiments Set Four and like I said, it is has such a pretty font and covers every occasion!  For my first card, I gave the bokeh technique a try.  It's really just sponging on inks, then sponging on circle shapes with a white pigment ink, overlapping as you go.  I'll be trying it again for sure. ;)  See how pretty the sentiment is?!  I added a little silver cording to ground it a bit.

For my second card, I added some interest by randomly placing different sizes of the Stitched Circle Dies and running them through my machine.  I love that this particular sentiment can cover a wide range of events!  A few gumdrops in green apple glittered, pumpkin and blue sapphire glittered (because they match the Color Throwdown challenge) add the perfect finishing touches!  The sketch is the Case this Sketch #109.

And look here!  We have a coupon code for you to use when shopping - ONLY good through 15 February so don't wait too long!

Thanks SO much for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop!

Your Next Stamp New Release SNEAK PEEK!

Hi all!  It's Sneak Peek time over on the YNS Blog and boy, is this one FUN release!!!  Here is my card using Wild Ride!  The baby and zebra are one stamp but they would also be so easy to stamp separately, if desired.  I colored them with Copics, adding shading on the left side and underneath both the baby and the zebra with my W1 and W3 Copics.  I used an out of the box technique to cut the image out.  I took a circle STAX die and fed it through my machine just enough without cutting out the zebra's head or hoof.  Then I used paper snips to cut around the areas that hadn't been cut by the die.  I adhered the image using foam adhesive for extra dimension.  To add a bit of oomph to the polka dot DP, I randomly placed the new Stitched Circles dies over it, then ran it through my machine.  As long as the dies aren't too close together, you can run 3 or 4 of them through at one time {at least that's what I did and didn't have any problems!}.  This set comes with 3 sweet sentiments, including the one I used here.  A few sparkly silver gumdrops add the finishing touch!  The sketch is the current SCS weekly sketch challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  I know the rest of the DT and our guest designer have some amazing sneaks for you, as well, so HOP ON OVER and check them out!

YNS Fun Friday - I'm a sucker for you!

Hi all!  YAY!  It's Friday and we have a new sketch and inspiration challenge for you over on the YNS Blog!  I loved the sketch and thought rolling hills of suckers would be so fun, hehe!  The sentiment and heart-shaped suckers are from the Sweet and Cool set.  And how fun is that sentiment??  I colored them with Copics, then cut them out with the matching dies.  The hills were made using the hills die set.  When using the smallest die, I will run it through my machine once, then line it up to match the curve that I just cut and run it through again if I need a longer hill.  Clear as mud, lol?  Some twine and a button add the finishing details.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to hop over to the YNS Blog for more inspiration and PLAY ALONG for your chance to WIN a YNS gift certificate!

TAWS - For you, friend

Hi all!  Here's a pretty CAS card I made using the newly released sets Branching Out and Stumped.  I so love how the background turned out!  I used sweet tooth pigment ink on a gumdrop green card base.  I colored the cute little fox with Copics then popped him up on the sentiment circle with foam adhesive.  When I inked the sentiment, I covered the 'deer' part of it so only 'for you friend' was inked up.  Some thread and a few YNS gumdrops and done!  :)
