A Flourishes sketch card

I know, I know, calm down! I posted a card! We had spring break last week and though I didn't get to stamp every day, I did make a few cards and it was sooo nice! We stayed local, enjoyed the weather, played 2-hand touch football (which reminded just how out of shape I am!), got some yard work done and just chilled. Has this year not flown by? Someone said that we only have 50 days of school left! Crazy! Ok, on to the card stuff...
In case you weren't aware, I totally *love* Flourishes! Their stamps, their dt, the company - they're just fab in my book! This week, they had a sketch as their weekly challenge. I didn't intend to have this image used as the left side of the circle, but once I colored it and cut it down, it was just too big for the middle of the sketch. I think you can click on the picture to get an up close look at the image. Coloring images is so therapeutic for me! The middle of the sentiment is popped up w/ a pop dot, that's why it looks like it's not flat, because, well, it's not! ;) Was going for that banner effect. I wanted to add something to the card base, so went w/ the swirly embossing folder and pierced on the top and bottom of the design.
Thanks for stopping by!

Lovin' this new SAB set!

Isn't it so pretty? The flower was stamped twice and the 2nd one was popped up on a dimensional. I used Julee's Mojo72 sketch for this one. Lots o' gems on it! And piercing! The sentiment is from a different set whose name escapes me at the moment. The riding hood layer was cuttlebugged.
We've been enjoying some warmer weather, so yesterday we took the boys to a local playground. Well, we were all running around playing hide and seek! It was so fun but ya wanna hear the sad thing?? I am SORE from all that running!! Aaacckkkk!!! How pitiful is that? We also played a little basketball, so it was quite a work out. Better to work out by having fun than by doing something boring like jogging, right? lol! Just thought I'd share!
Thanks for stopping by!

A Verve card

Hey, look ma, I sewed!! Ok, so it's no where near straight, but I love the "crazy stitch" look! I made this for a Verve sketch challenge over on Splitcoast. The flower petals are on dimensionals. I cuttlebugged the oval saffron layer, which I'd cut out w/ my coluzzle. I was happy when I realized that my pink marvy oval scallop punch layered perfectly with that saffron layer!
I'm off work today, so I think I'll make my Target/Michael's run! I'll let ya know if I find anything good!
Thanks for stopping by!

1st Elzy blog challenge!!

Yay, we've begun the first of our challenges over on the Elzybells Blog!! This weeks sketch challenge was made up by Jeanne Streiff.
You can see that I put my cuttlebug to work again and I also adding faux stitching to that layer. That yumm-o dp is new from Bo Bunny. I think the next thing to get on my never-ending shopping list is a set of Nestabilities. I only have a coluzzle and 2 pink (forget the size) marvy punches, as for as cutting systems go. If you know of a good place to get these, please let me know! (think I'll check HL) Back to the card ~ again, all coloring w/ SU markers. I used ruby red and cameo on the little robin ~ ain't he sweet?? I watercolored moss as the ground and then outlined them with my bashful blue marker. Thanks for peeking in!

Buzzin by with an Elzy card

How cute is this stamp?? I *love* it! Supah simple to color, which I did w/ SU markers. And yes, folks, I finally crawled out from under my rock and bought myself a Cuttlebug!! This started out as last weeks' sketch, but I ended up changing it a bit. I cut in between each scallop and bent back every other "petal" to give it more dimension. And I think this dp is just so adorable ~ the flower centers are sparkly! Thanks for taking a peek!!
