Thanks a latte

Hi all!  Here's a fun and quick card I made for the Coffee Lovers Bloghop {check it out HERE}and these challenges:  FMS155 and CTD311.

Being that it's a Coffee Lovers bloghop, how could I NOT use this super cute Thanks a Latte YNS set?!  The card base is grout gray, as well as the strip on the left stamped with my pinstripe BG.  I used the matching Thanks a Latte die set to cut out the cup from Sno Cone card stock.  See those cute little coffee beans on the cup?!  Hehe!  The lid was stamped with grout gray ink and cut out of smooth white card stock.  The coffee band was cut out of an actual Starbucks coffee band!  And I couldn't resist stamping some "spilled" coffee (which is from the stamp set) in chocolate brown ink.  The sour apple tag was cut out using an element from Blueprints 6.

Thinking of You

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for a trio of challenges:  CQC260, SCS sketch SC507 and the SCS WT498.  This cool tree and sentiment are from the new LJD Out on a Limb set - love it!  I inked the tree itself with kraft ink, then inked my woodgrain BG stamp with hot chocolate and used the good ol' kissing technique to create the woodgrain tree!  The other colors used are lemon drop and tangy orange.  I used that same woodgrain BG on the tangy orange layer (behind the main image).  That cool plaid strip on the left was created using the Plaid background builder in nightshift blue, kraft, lemon drop and tangy orange inks.  The sentiment is stamped on vellum and then attached over the main image with gold brads.

Wishing you...

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the Curtain Call: Wishing Well challenge using the September Gallery theme sketch challenge on SCS ~ you have to be a member to participate in these and worth every. penny.  So I finally got one of those craft mats about a month ago, you know the ones that are heat and ink resistant?  Love it!  For my flowers (lily die-namics), leaves and stems, I took a few ink pads and pressed them directly onto the mat, spritzed the ink with water  so it was nice and wet, then smushed (technical term) a piece of watercolor paper over it and moved it around until it had soaked up just about all of the ink and water.  Voila!  Love how it turned out!  I used my R12 Copic to fill in the embossed lines of the flowers then adhered them to my circle STAX.  The steel blue layer was sponged using the brick wall stencil in steel blue ink.  The sentiment is from my well-loved Celebrate Big set and was cut out using one of the Blueprints 1 elements.

Hope you're on the mend...

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using a new set I got from Sugar Pea Designs called Undying Love.  I used their current sketch challenge, SPDSS11, to showcase this, uh, darling image, lol!  Hopefully you're not like my hubby and think that her eyes look like peppermints!  ;)  As soon as he said that, I added more yellow and green (for eyeballs), then used my colorless blender to blur the red 'veins' in her eyes.  She looks a little under the weather, so as much as I love the sentiments in the set, I thought this would make for a funny get well card, which fits Linda's Catered Crop latest challenge, Good Medicine.  The card base and sentiment layer are grout gray card stock, which pairs perfectly with the Teresa Collins Memorabilia DP that I used.

JAVA a great day!

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for two challenges:  colourQ and CTS93.  All images are from the totally cute Thanks a Latte set  by YNS.  The cup, lid and bellyband were cut out using the matching die set - gotta love matching dies!  I used my Copics on the cup and lid to match the colors of the challenge.  The bellyband was cut out of a scrap piece of DP.  The pink lemonade scallop was cut out using one of the elements from the open scallop die set.  I cut the card down to 4 inches so the flag sentiment would still fit in a standard envelope.  A few coffee beans stamped in chocolate ink make this card even more fun :D

Merry Christmas - trio of challenges

*2nd post of the day - scroll down to see my Your Next Stamp Fun Friday post, please*

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using this week's color challenge, CC496 on SCS, the WT497 challenge to use stencils and the MFTWSC194 sketch.  The 'dessert' part of the color challenge was to make a Christmas card, so I thought, why not!   I used the Damask Designs set on the traditional tag STAX  -even though it's not a Christmas set, it sure does work for any occasion!  I used the large polka dot stencil on the pacific blue and electric red layers.  I then used the diagonal stripes stencil on the Sno cone strip and the tiny Sno cone pierced flag.  The pacific blue and Sno Cone layers were distressed.  The sentiment is from the Cheerful Christmas Greetings set (love the font!), which I stamped on one of the Blueprints 1 elements and cut to fit over the tag.  Another pierced flag and a wild cherry button with twine plus some old SU! ribbon add the finishing touches.  Oh, and the card base is smooth white (FAVORITE white card stock!!!), in case you were wondering ;)

YNSFF16 - Happy birthday buddy

Hi all!  It's Friday (yay!!!) and that means it's time to play along with the Your Next Stamp monthly challenge!  I used this month's sketch to feature this sweet digital image, Best Friends.  Don't you love these cuties?!  I colored them with Copics (and the hat is peach not pink :D).  The card base is spearmint, then I layered Sno cone card stock that I had stamped with my pinstripe background and cut to fit the sketch, over a layer of smooth white card stock that I cut out with one of my blueprint dies.  The sentiment was stamped on the smallest die in the 3D banner die set.  I added some ivory gumdrops to add extra detail.  Love my gumdrops!  The color combo is from the CTD310 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  As always, we look forward to seeing your projects!

MFTWSC193 - Make a Wish

Hi all!  Here's my card for the MFTWSC193 and the Color Palette Challenge #9.  The sentiment is from Birthday Sentiments and is inked in factory green and wild cherry.  I used the MPD scallops stencil to sponge this awesome design on the steel grey card stock in steel grey ink.  The card base is steel blue.  The steel grey and sentiment layers were popped up on foam adhesives.  For the banner strip, I used the 'Happy Birthday' in the Document It - Bingo set on the grout gray card stock then used a different stamp from the Birthday Sentiments set in wild cherry ink.  The wild cherry flower was created from 3 of the elements in the Layered Rose die-namics then I added a steel grey button and some twine for the center.

Here's a pic showing all the cool dimension!

Thanks, you're the best

Hi all!  I don't believe I've posted this card yet, but I wanted to share the card that won me the Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Stamping Royalty 2014 in the Thank You category!  This card measures 4x4.  The card base is Sno Cone and has steel grey for laying, as well as grout gray for the top layer.  I used one of the images from Damask Designs inked with grout gray (for a tone on tone look) to add a little something to the focal point of the card.  The flowers and steel grey stitched circle are from the Blueprints 12.  The 'Thanks' part of the sentiment was stamped in grout gray and is from a retired MPD set.  The 'you're the best' part of the sentiment was stamped in steel grey.  I added extra interest to the flowers by stamping them with the houndstooth stamp from the large scale backgrounds set and stamped the leaves with woodgrain background stamp in sour apple.  And of course I had to add steel grey buttons with some white twine for the flower centers ;)

Chevron Happy birthday

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for a few challenges:  CTD308,  TCEC9 and the Paper Players Challenge 13.  I used my chevron die to cut out the colors I wanted, then adhered them to thin copy paper.  I then cut out the 'happy' of the adhered chevron strips and voila!  I stamped some of the images from my Abstract Art set in grout gray to create a focal point.  I stamped 'birthday' in steel grey ink.  I used one of my square STAX to emboss the card base.  This card measures 4x4.

Your Next Stamp - Fun Friday!

Hi all!  Ok, so here we are in September (geez, when did THAT happen?!), so new month means a new sketch and inspiration photo!  I used the inspiration photo for my card, which features the Looking Chic digital stamp.  Yes!  My first Christmas card of the season!  Lol!  And obviously I'm not ready to embrace the fact that Christmas is SO close that I used nontraditional colors ;) I colored her with Copics and cut her out using one of my blueprints.  I stenciled on some diagonal stripes and added a cute sentiment.  A little twine and a couple of brads (bottom right corner, they match that chocolate card stock perfectly) add the finishing details.  The sketch is the current SFYTT.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to play along for YOUR chance to WIN!
