TAWS Sneak Peek - Have a Super day!

Hi all!  I'm SO excited to show you my sneak peek card today featuring the TAWS set called Happy Hero!  There are several images and sentiments so you can create your OWN super hero!!!  WHAT?!?  I know, right?!! We looove all of the Marvel characters in my house and who doesn't love Captain America??  I decided to make my penguin Captain America, even added some glossy accents to his shield.  Everything was colored with Copics, then fussy cut.  I added the star background with an MFT stencil and some modeling paste, then sprinkled silver glitter over them before they dried.  I love that the sentiment covers a few different occasions.

You splatter to me

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the Oh Splat stamp set by TAWS.  I dampened a piece of watercolor paper, then inked my 'ink splat' images using distress inks then stamped them onto the damp paper.  Because the paper was damp, it made the ink spread.  Once I was happy with the look, I heat set it, then added my sentiment and clear sequins from Butterfly Reflections Ink.  The sketch is from the CAS133 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  AND you'll want to head over to the TAWS Blog because our Sneak Peeks started TODAY!!!  You still have time to enter win!

YNS Fun Friday - Indulge, it's your day!

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  It's time for the YNS Fun Friday sketch and color challenges!  I used this fun Waddles - Happy Brrr-thday set for the color challenge, along with the matching dies.  I colored him with Copics then popped him up on foam adhesive.  I used up some pretty DP I've had for years and added some bubblegum gumdrops.  The striped layer was cut out with the circle element from the Little Peek a Boo Doors die set.  The sketch is from the SSSC278.

I love you like...

Hi all!  Here's a fun card I made using the TAWS set Old School.  How funny is that sentiment??  It comes together but I used a sticky note to mask it so that I could stamp it onto 3 strips of card stock.  I even went with the 80s neon card base (limelight from MFT).  :D

YNS Feature Day - Summer!

Hi all!  It's Feature Day over on the YNS blog and this month's theme is Summer!  Oh, how I love summer!  Yes, I'd rather be hot than cold!  ;)   For my card, I used dies from the Rainbow Fun die set. I used distress markers to color onto watercolor paper then spritzed with water, then I die cut the area for my 'rainbow'.  I popped the clouds and rainbow up on foam adhesive over bit of blue card stock.  The smooth white card stock was cut out using the stitched rectangle dies.  The sentiment is from the Woodland Cuties set - I thought it went so well with the rainbow and can be used for many occasions!  I added gumdrops from the Neon Sunrise and Mermaid Fun collections.  The card base is banana split card stock.

Howdy

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the TAWS Cha Cha Cha set.  I created a mini scene (based on the CAS132 sketch).  I colored this guy and the cactus with Copics then fussy cut them.  They're both popped up with foam adhesive.

Wanna taco 'bout it?

Hi all!  Here's a CAS card I made using two TAWS sets - Express Yourself and Cha Cha Cha.  I love the option to make custom sentiments with the Express Yourself set.  I mean, how fun is this, ha?!?  Once I had the image colored with Copics, I knew what I wanted my sentiment to be.  The card base is chocolate brown.

Happy Birthday

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using some new MFT goodies for their color challenge MFTCC25.  I embossed the abstract background stamp in clear EP and used various distress markers and water to color it in. I used used the Blueprints 26 {love!} to cut out the balloon and the two words!  I also cut out 'happy' from some adhesive fun foam to add dimension to it. The balloon is also layered on some fun foam.  A little twine and done.  :D

Celebrate

Hi all!  Here's a card I made CTD350 and also as an entry for the Paper Smooches guest designer search.  I couldn't pass up this new set by PS called Best Buds.  I colored everything with Copics using the colors from the Color Throwdown challenge.  I then fussy cut the image, added glossy accents to the jar and also added an extra flower and set of leaves.  The sentiment was embossed with white EP on the black card stock layer.  I added a few clear gumdrops to highlight the sentiment.  The scalloped layer is insulation pink and the card base is pink lemonade.

YNS Fun Friday - Hello

Hi all!  Happy Friday!  Here's my card using the new YNS Fun Friday color challenge! The images are from the new set called Word Critters Collection - Exotic Animals. I colored them with Copics, then fussy cut each one and popped them up on foam adhesive.  The 'hello' is from the scripty words die set. I added some ivory gumdrops because of the FMS194 sketch that I used for this card.  Aren't these critters so super cute?!

Miss U

Hi all!  So, may I say, I kinda love this card.  I made this using the newly released TAWS set called Express Yourself.  It's a mini alphabet set that has 5, yes 5, different fonts and includes other mini images and numbers, too.  Adorable!  So I picked a font and lined them up on my block individually - I found it rather therapeutic and yes, they are lined up perfectly imperfect, lol.  ;)  I then embossed it with white EP on watercolor paper.  Next, I picked 3 distress markers I wanted to use and swiped them on an acrylic block.  I then wet the paper only around the letters, then used a paintbrush to pick up the ink off the block and placed it where I wanted it (again, within the areas that were already wet).  I then dried it with my heat gun, then repeated because the colors weren't rich enough for me yet, dried it again, then sprinkled some water on top and dabbed it with a paper towel to get more of that spotty look.  I then picked out the letters to spell 'miss u' (because the 'u' is missing, in case you didn't notice!) and embossed it on black card stock.   I added the arrow die to help draw your eye to the fact that the u is missing.  And, well, I miss U.  :D

YNS DT Dare - Happy Bird-day!

Hi all!  Happy Hump Day!  :D  It's time for another YNS DT Dare challenge and this time we had to use flowers in our creation.  I had to use this cute little guy from the new Soaring By... set along with the matching die.  I stamped him on watercolor paper, then used my Zig pens to color him in.  And yes, I googled pictures of parrots for his coloring, hehe! The background was done using distress inks and water.  The clouds are from the new Rainbow Fun Die set.  I stamped one of the sentiments from the set and embossed it onto black card stock then cut it out with one of the banners from the 3D banner die set.  The flowers I added are from the Spring Grass die.  I watercolored them, also. ;)

Sending rainbows and sunshine

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using one image and one sentiment from the Oh Splat TAWS set.  I inked the splat using distress markers directly on the image.  I lightly spritzed it with water, being careful to not have the colors blend too much, then placed a piece of smooth white card stock over it. Turned out just as I had hoped!  I then stamped the sentiment in black licorice ink and used my cross-stitched circle STAX to cut it out and popped it up on foam adhesive.  I added a few YNS silver tinsel gumdrops for a little extra detail.  Easy Peasy!

Hope your day is as cool as you are

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for fun using the current MFTWSC235 and the Color Throwdown challenge CTD349 .  I finally got to play with this Penguin in Paradise stamp set I picked up from Butterfly Reflections Ink.  It just doesn't get much cuter than this!  I colored him with Copics and added polka dots to his swim shorts using a white gel pen.  His fudgesicle has glossy accents on it.  I used the cross-stitched circle STAX for the Sno Cone circle.  I sponged on some orange fizz to the center of the orange fizz circle to add a little depth.  I love the Simply Circles BG stamp - such a perfect touch to any background!  It is stamped with kraft ink onto natural card stock.
