Happy New Year and...

Happy Birthday to me! ;) Yep, entering a whole new decade, NOT that I'm thrilled about it, but hey, I'm THANKFUL to be here and to have the most wonderful little family to celebrate with! Here's a pic (one of over a hundred!) I took last night. Our neighbors put on quite a display and I went a little snap-happy! Here's another fave:
I sure hope this year brings many wonderful blessings for you all!!! Enjoy the little things and take time for yourself - that's MY plan, anyway!!!

A manly sketch challenge with a Colour Q

Hi all and Merry {late} Christmas!!!! I hope it was a great one with lots of yummy food and quality family time! We definitely enjoyed ours and the monsters seemed quite happy with all of their new things. On to the card!

First of all, I got a new camera and I mention this because I wanted to upload this card to Splitcoast and I can't crop it small enough to do so! Bummer! So I guess I need to check some settings (or if anyone has a clue what to do, please share!) and try again. I made this for the sketch challenge this week AND for the ColourQ challenge. I love their challenges and have stalked them for a while, but this will be my first time participating. We needed a card for one of my hubby's coworkers and since it's been sooo long since I stamped, I needed a LOT of guidance on where to get started. *note: I have never claimed to be much of a seamstress, especially when it comes to straight lines, so anything that does turn out straight, was purely an act of God! *a note on that note: Now I know why they're called a "seamstress" because "sewer" looks like that place where the alligators live (ha, name that movie!). Moving on... I ran the olive layer through my 'bug using the houndstooth folder and the basic gray layer is already textured. The tree layer is up on dimensionals. I colored the tree with SU markers. The sentiment is from an Elzybells (*sniff*) set. Added a little sewing and done!
Well, for those of you that check in once in a while, I truly appreciate it! I promise to make myself stamp more and therefore, POST more to my poor little blog!
I hope that 2011 brings you all many blessings! Happy New Year!!!!!

A merry Flourish challenge

Hi again! Aaahhh, don't you just love holidays? Time off from work, spending time with your family and oh, yea, STAMPING time! Lots to be thankful for!
Here's a card I made for the Flourishes blog challenge FTTC94. I ordered this new set, Christmas Classics a couple of weeks ago and it has been calling my name! Love this set with it's classic images and sweet sentiments. I paper pieced the stockings and colored the rest copics and SU markers. I added frosted lace stickles to the white parts of the stockings. The sentiment was spritzed with some marshmallow glimmer mist.
Thanks for stopping by!

Last but not least...

This boy...

is the baby, but don't call him that!
is obsessed with Storm Troopers... slightly. ;)
is so full of energy!
has the sweetest puppy dog eyes that may or may not have gotten him out of trouble a time or two.
says the most random things.
is very competitive, as are the other two.
is the perfect piece to complete our little family circle.

Stay tuned... I actually have a card to upload! Yikes, I know!

Now this boy...

Is the sweetest middle child... ever.
Is turning ten on Saturday.
Is more thoughtful and considerate than most people.
Is a perfectionist.
Is an awesome baseball player!
Makes me proud every day.

Happy Birthday, sweet pea.

This boy...

Is a ham!
Is making me feel old, now that he's a teenager.
Is smart.
Is a cancer survivor!
Is stronger than he realizes sometimes (see above!).
Is part of the reason I don't get to stamp much, but that's okay because he's awesome and there's nothing I'd rather do than watch him kick butt on the baseball field.

Dessert Rose sketchy card

Oh my, I know it's been a loooong time since my last post. Not by choice, trust me!
Here's a card I made today for Julee's MOJO159 challenge. I used the small butterfly from Verve's Blue Skies set - cut it out and added stickles to it. The sentiment is from Flourishes (couldn't find one of my Verve sentiment sets! bummer!). I cuttlebugged the layer under the butterfly and the top part of the rose red layer. Love this lace ribbon I got during my last trip to A's. Added a button w/ silver cording for some extra detail.

THANKS for stopping by!!!
