A twinchie Flourish card

Thank goodness for days off! I really wanted to play in the Flourishes Twinchie release challenge. Have you seen the sneak peeks??!! Oh my! Wish I could make it to the release party tonight on SCS, but I'll be busy hanging out w/ family and friends.
So, for this card I used one of the year of flowers sets, #3, I believe. Perfect size stamps for a twinchie - a 2x2 piece of artwork, in case you didn't know! :) I used my SU markers to color the image. The ric rac was white so I colored it w/ my ruby marker. Added a caramel colored button w/ some thread (again, colored w/ a marker to match) to finish it off. The colors came from this weeks' color challenge on SCS - blush, ruby and cameo. Had to add green for the leaves, of course.
For those of you who still swing by here every now and then, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

hugs,

A Flourishes sketch card

I know, I know, calm down! I posted a card! We had spring break last week and though I didn't get to stamp every day, I did make a few cards and it was sooo nice! We stayed local, enjoyed the weather, played 2-hand touch football (which reminded just how out of shape I am!), got some yard work done and just chilled. Has this year not flown by? Someone said that we only have 50 days of school left! Crazy! Ok, on to the card stuff...
In case you weren't aware, I totally *love* Flourishes! Their stamps, their dt, the company - they're just fab in my book! This week, they had a sketch as their weekly challenge. I didn't intend to have this image used as the left side of the circle, but once I colored it and cut it down, it was just too big for the middle of the sketch. I think you can click on the picture to get an up close look at the image. Coloring images is so therapeutic for me! The middle of the sentiment is popped up w/ a pop dot, that's why it looks like it's not flat, because, well, it's not! ;) Was going for that banner effect. I wanted to add something to the card base, so went w/ the swirly embossing folder and pierced on the top and bottom of the design.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!!!

Ok, I realize I'm 5 days late, but lookeee ---->>> I stamped!
And if felt sooo good! ;} This is part of a set that I made as a teachers' birthday gift. I got this Flight of the Butterfly set months ago, but this is the first time it's seen ink. Used the sketch from last weeks' challenge on SCS and just kept things simple since I hadn't stamped in so long. The yummy kraft cardstock is from Elzybell's. Love it! And yes, the butterfly is popped up on a dimensional.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that 2010 brings many blessings! We had a very nice Christmas and New Year. Nice and relaxing. Now it's back to work but I made a promise to myself to stamp more! Can't really buy new stuff if I'm not using what's sitting in my craft room! Well, yes, I know I could, but I feel better if I'm using what I already own, kwim?? Thanks for checking in - hope I haven't lost too many of you!

School days, school days...

Incase anyone was wondering, no, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth. I was fortunate enough to get a job at a local elementary school and have started working FULL TIME for the first time in oh, about 9 years! Not counting the whole mother thing, of course. The boys all started school yesterday and 2 of them attend the school I work at, so it's been wonderful being able to see them, even for a second here and there, throughout the day. Helps me to not feel like a bad mom for getting a job, kwim? That being said, if anyone has spare energy and mojo they'd like to send my way, it would be GREATLY appreciated! ha! I get home and all I can think of is S-L-E-E-P! Guess you can call me a wuss til I get used to this routine.
So, as soon as I find my mojo and a spare few minutes, I'll post a new creation!

Thanks for peeking in!
