Pink and Kraft Joy - CC456 & FLLCDEC13B

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the Flourishes December release challenge, FLLCDEC13B and for today's color challenge on SplitCoastStampers, CC456.  I used Flourishes Handmade Snowflakes stamp set for this untraditional Christmas card.  I used MFT's bubblegum, kraft and factory green inks.  The stripes on the bubblegum cardstock are from the Striped Backgrounds, also stamped in bubblegum.  This is my first card using the sequins I bought probably 4 months ago - fun little detail!  I cut out the sentiment with one of my Pierced Circle STAX and added a little tag from Blueprints 1.  Did you see MFT is coming out with STITCHED Circle STAX tonight?!?  Gotta have those!  ;)

FTTC244 - Plaid Joy

Hi all!  It's Tuesday and time for another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge.  This week it's all about the ever classic plaid or houndstooth patterns:

For my card, I've used the newly released Handmade Snowflakes by Flourishes.  Such a classic set, love it!  The snowflake is stamped in sno cone, then I stamped one of the sentiments from the set in black licorice over it.  I created my plaid using the plaid builder stamp set and the same sno cone and black licorice inks.  I like that the pattern is slightly off - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  ha!  I used the stamping off technique for parts of the pattern to create a more dimensional look.  The little plaid fishtail flag is from the washi patterns set by MFT.  A few enamel dots add the finishing touch.  I've also made this for the SACC challenge this week.  Play along with us at Flourishes and SACC for a chance to win ;)

FTTC243 - Sending Smiles

Hi all!  Welcome to another Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge:

For my card, I've used the pot and tulips that are in the From the Garden set.  The pots were paper pieced and the flowers were colored with copics.  Yes, I fussy cut THOSE flowers!  ;) The sentiment is from the Tulips for Friends set and was cut out with an element from the Blueprints 1 die-namics.  The sketch is this month's DD sketch on the SplitCoastStampers website - you have to be a member to view it and yes, I highly encourage you to do so!  Worth.  Every.  Penny.  I almost went with an all white card but thought the soft pink dp worked well and still let the flowers take center stage.  A handful of white brads add the finishing details.

FTTC242 - Believe

Hello!  It's Tuesday and time for another Flourishes blog challenge:

Flourishes just released 3 beautiful stamp sets and I just couldn't resist using one of them for this challenge, Handmade Snowflakes.  I cut out my canvas oval with an oval die-namic but first, I adhered it with scor-tape to a piece of plain cardstock to give it some sturdiness and to keep it from fraying.  My little tip of the day ;)  I then stamped two snowflakes in pink lemonade and the sentiment in hot fudge directly onto the canvas.  I then stamped several snowflakes on the larger layer in pink lemonade, using the stamping-off technique on the smaller ones, hot fudge ink and kraft ink.  The polka dots on the scalloped kraft layer weren't stamped - it's washi tape!  I covered a piece of cardstock with the washi tape then ran it through with one of my scalloped die-namics.  I got the idea from Tenia's HYCCT challenge on SCS.  Some kraft ribbon and chocolate pearls add the finishing details.  The sketch is from the Blueprints 1.

    FTTC241 - Lace and Pearls

Hi all!  Here is my card for this week's Flourishes' Timeless Tuesday challenge, to use Lace and Pearls on your project, hosted by Cheryl.

For my card, I used their set, Butterflies and Blossoms.  I think you could call this 'stamping-lite' or 'stamping on a diet'?  Lol, maybe I'm just tired? All I did was stamp one of the gorgeous flowers in the set in pink lemonade ink, then stamped one of the sentiments on top of it with black licorice.  Add some snazzy dp, lace and pearls and voila - a cute and quick card when you don't have a lot of time but need a card and just don't want to break down and *gasp* BUY a card!  {fainting at the thought!}  I did add some piercing around the navy dp.  The sketch is from the Blueprints 6 die-namics by MFT.

    Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 232!!!

Hi all!  I have the privilege of joining the wonderful Flourishes DT as the host for this week's Timeless Tuesday challenge!  Wahoo - SO exciting!!!  My challenge is to create your own background - yes, nice and easy and you're welcome, ha!  I used their scrumptious Wild for Watermelon set.  The beauty of Flourishes sets is that they come with SO many stamps that all coordinate, so creating your own background is a breeze.  For my card, I chose one of the smaller pieces of watermelon and inked it with a jellybean green ink onto green cardstock for a tone-on-tone look.  I also inked the same image with pink lemonade ink for a little extra touch under the sentiment.  My focal image was colored with copics.  A bit of black seam binding and voila!

Close up...  Don't you love that sentiment?  It makes me *smile*.

    SACC - Hello Friend

Hi all!  Welcome to another round of anything goes over at the SACC Blog!  Our sponsor this week is Milk Coffee which you can find on Etsy.  I chose to use an older Flourishes' set of mine, Sweet Days of Summer.  I stamped it in hot fudge and also in sour apple, as a shadow.  The sentiment is from the Friendly Reminders set and was cut out using one of the Mini Doily Circles die-namics.  I also stamped the tiny trio of butterflies from the Sweet Days of Summer set in the middle of the sentiment.  A couple of kraft buttons with hemp thread and paper piercing add the finishing details.  This was also made for the Flourishes FLLCJUN13 Blog challenge.  ;)

    Thank you berry much

Hi all!  I wanted to share this card I made recently using Flourishes' Berry Sweet set.  I used a few of the die-namics in MFT's Blueprints 1 set.  The berries were colored with copics and I added a row of bling to the sentiment tab.

    Special Delivery

Hi! Everyone ready for the weekend? I know I am! Here's a card I made for the Flourishes Blog challenge for their new release. The paper pieced bassinet is from their Baby Love set. I used a few different dienamics ~ file tab, dizzy border and fringed perennial. I've had this pretty shiny ribbon for years and am happy to finally use some of it! This card measures 3 5/8 x 6. I know, a little odd but I like it!
A peek at the inside. The heart was cut out using a dienamic from the homespun birdhouse die set. The sentiment is from the Flourishes set called Friendly Reminders. A row of pink bling finishes off the inside.

    Merry challenge

Hi! Here's a card I made for one of the Flourishes blog challenges. You had to make a card using items based off your initials. So here's my AMR card:
    A-angled layer
    M-Merry Christmas sentiment
    R-red (and ribbon)

Fortunately, a little birdie gave me some help with the "A" because I was stumped! Here's my first Christmas card of the year! To say I'm a little behind the power curve is an understatement... I had to grab this beauty of a set, Christmas Classics. LOVE it! The bells were colored with a silver gel pen. I spritzed the dizzy doily dienamic (behind the main image), the vintage flourish dienamic (tucked into the ribbon knot) and the sentiment layer with marshmallow glimmer mist. Of course, we all know how well shimmer photographs, so you can't see how cool it really looks! The angled layer is embossed. The main image and sentiment are up on pop dots.

The dp is a new Christmas pad from JilliBean Soup.

    A three layer Flourish challenge

Hi all! I found some time to stamp and just HAD to participate in a Flourishes challenge which you can see HERE! Their stamps are so beautiful, I never have a hard time creating something with them! This was made for their Three's a Charm challenge, which was to make a card with only three layers! Kind of a tough one, so I added texture to the main panel by running it through my 'Bug with the polka dot embossing folder after I colored it with copics. I also distressed and rolled the edges of the dp layer. Some satin ribbon and a button w/ hemp finish it up.

    Hollyhocks

***This is my 2nd post today! To see my Totally Stampalicious card, please scroll down!***

Hello again! I decided to play in this weeks' Flourishes FTTC which was to use "water" in your creation. I chose to ink up their new Hollyhocks set using Bermuda Bay (fits the challenge, right?!) on watercolor paper. Then I took my aquapainter, which hasn't been touched in quite some time, and just blended the ink to color in the flowers. The sentiment is also from this set and I used a Verve die to cut it out, added a brad then attached it to my satin ribbon using a glue dot. And I apologize for the blurry pic, I'm forcing myself to use my camera on the manual setting. :)

    Berry sweet

Hi! Yes, I stamped again! I'm on a roll and I love it!
Here's a card I made for one of Flourishes release challenges which you can see here. I love coloring the images from Flourishes sets! Used various copics for the berries and leaves and outlined the image using SU's barely banana marker. I sponged around the main image with saffron ink. I used riding hood red to sponge the center of the sentiment panel, which is up on dimensionals. The moss panel behind the main image was stamped using one of the leaf images in versamark from the same set. I used my moss SU marker to add more color to the leaves. I'm happy that I got to use up some old SU dp and riding hood taffeta ribbon. Added a button, some bling and faux stitching to finish it all up!

    An Easter card

Hi!!! Here's an Easter card I made using a new PI, who I think is sold out at the moment - just tried looking for her on the site and couldn't find her! Anywho, I paper pieced her dress and colored everything else with copics. Used some dp I've had a while (yay!) and ruffled some ribbon around the edges. Nesties, sponging and brads finish it up. I made this using a sketch from MFT and for Flourishes release challenge.

    Get some butta...

'Cuz I'm on a roll! HA! I made this for 4 challenges! Today's sketch challenge on SCS, two of Flourishes' blog challenges and once I was done, I realized it fit Joanne B's Blogaversary challenge! Love how things work out sometimes!
I loved how easy the SC was for today, so I started there. I stamped the Gerber daisies from Flourishes onto SU's newest pink cs. I used copics to highlight parts of the flowers. I then sponged and distressed that layer. I finally broke down and used some of that scrumptious MME Stella and Ruby dp you see almost everywhere these days! Is anyone else like me and doesn't like to waste dp? It looks like I've used a nice big piece of that pretty paper doesn't it? Nope, I cut out a rectangle in the center, which is obviously covered up by the main images. Now I have a good sized scrap to use on another card! Moving on... I used that fun dizzy border die from MFT behind my sentiment and added some twine (I think this one is the honeydew, picks up the green in the dp) and popped it up on dimensionals. The butterfly has stickles on its wings and is also up on a dimensional. Ok, any clue as to why my stitching is coming out backwards? I swear I didn't sew it upside down! Just showing off my sewing skills there, ha!

    Dessert Rose sketchy card

Oh my, I know it's been a loooong time since my last post. Not by choice, trust me!
Here's a card I made today for Julee's MOJO159 challenge. I used the small butterfly from Verve's Blue Skies set - cut it out and added stickles to it. The sentiment is from Flourishes (couldn't find one of my Verve sentiment sets! bummer!). I cuttlebugged the layer under the butterfly and the top part of the rose red layer. Love this lace ribbon I got during my last trip to A's. Added a button w/ silver cording for some extra detail.

    THANKS for stopping by!!!
