Get some butta...

'Cuz I'm on a roll! HA! I made this for 4 challenges! Today's sketch challenge on SCS, two of Flourishes' blog challenges and once I was done, I realized it fit Joanne B's Blogaversary challenge! Love how things work out sometimes!
I loved how easy the SC was for today, so I started there. I stamped the Gerber daisies from Flourishes onto SU's newest pink cs. I used copics to highlight parts of the flowers. I then sponged and distressed that layer. I finally broke down and used some of that scrumptious MME Stella and Ruby dp you see almost everywhere these days! Is anyone else like me and doesn't like to waste dp? It looks like I've used a nice big piece of that pretty paper doesn't it? Nope, I cut out a rectangle in the center, which is obviously covered up by the main images. Now I have a good sized scrap to use on another card! Moving on... I used that fun dizzy border die from MFT behind my sentiment and added some twine (I think this one is the honeydew, picks up the green in the dp) and popped it up on dimensionals. The butterfly has stickles on its wings and is also up on a dimensional. Ok, any clue as to why my stitching is coming out backwards? I swear I didn't sew it upside down! Just showing off my sewing skills there, ha!

Thanks again for stopping by!

A manly sketch challenge with a Colour Q

Hi all and Merry {late} Christmas!!!! I hope it was a great one with lots of yummy food and quality family time! We definitely enjoyed ours and the monsters seemed quite happy with all of their new things. On to the card!

First of all, I got a new camera and I mention this because I wanted to upload this card to Splitcoast and I can't crop it small enough to do so! Bummer! So I guess I need to check some settings (or if anyone has a clue what to do, please share!) and try again. I made this for the sketch challenge this week AND for the ColourQ challenge. I love their challenges and have stalked them for a while, but this will be my first time participating. We needed a card for one of my hubby's coworkers and since it's been sooo long since I stamped, I needed a LOT of guidance on where to get started. *note: I have never claimed to be much of a seamstress, especially when it comes to straight lines, so anything that does turn out straight, was purely an act of God! *a note on that note: Now I know why they're called a "seamstress" because "sewer" looks like that place where the alligators live (ha, name that movie!). Moving on... I ran the olive layer through my 'bug using the houndstooth folder and the basic gray layer is already textured. The tree layer is up on dimensionals. I colored the tree with SU markers. The sentiment is from an Elzybells (*sniff*) set. Added a little sewing and done!
Well, for those of you that check in once in a while, I truly appreciate it! I promise to make myself stamp more and therefore, POST more to my poor little blog!
I hope that 2011 brings you all many blessings! Happy New Year!!!!!

Elzy sketch time

Time for another Elzybell blog challenge and this week was a sketch by Michelle! I wanted to make a more "manly" card since "girly" usually comes to mind when I see an Elzybell set. I used the same coffee cup and solid coffee cup image to make my own patterned paper that I used for my main image. The cup on the main layer is up on a pop dot. I stamped the little coffee bean stamp on the moss layer. And yes, lots and lots of piercing! The larger white layer was run through my 'bug w/ the houndstooth embossing folder. Ok, my time is limited today, so I better run! Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's designs HERE.

1st Elzy blog challenge!!

Yay, we've begun the first of our challenges over on the Elzybells Blog!! This weeks sketch challenge was made up by Jeanne Streiff.
You can see that I put my cuttlebug to work again and I also adding faux stitching to that layer. That yumm-o dp is new from Bo Bunny. I think the next thing to get on my never-ending shopping list is a set of Nestabilities. I only have a coluzzle and 2 pink (forget the size) marvy punches, as for as cutting systems go. If you know of a good place to get these, please let me know! (think I'll check HL) Back to the card ~ again, all coloring w/ SU markers. I used ruby red and cameo on the little robin ~ ain't he sweet?? I watercolored moss as the ground and then outlined them with my bashful blue marker. Thanks for peeking in!

card info: stamps ~ elzybells reindeer and robin. paper ~ ruby, pumpkin, choc, ww. ink ~ black. access. ~ markers, punch, coluzzle, ribbon, piercer.
