The Card Concept Challenge Time!

Hi all! I'm a day late, but here is my card for the latest The Card Concept Blog Challenge. That inspiration pic is a beauty! I did a lot of watercoloring using Ranger Distress Inks as well as my Zig pens. The stamp set and sentiment (get it, 'you're a dahl! as in dahlia, the flower. Lol!) are from Hero Arts. I watercolored the background so that it mimicked the shape of the flowers I layered on top. I've watched a lot of videos lately for inspiration and was inspired by May Park and added the flecks of color.

The Card Concept Challenge time!

Hi all!  Yay for being halfway through the week!  We have a new inspiration pic for you on The Card Concept Challenge blog - and it's all about green!  I used distress inks to create a cool top layer then used the Birch Press Designs Fiori plate A to cut it out.  I used another of the Birch Press dies to layer underneath then adhered them both to a gumdrop green card base. The sentiment and 'birthday' die are from the BPD Make a Statement stamp set with matching dies. I added a few sparkly YNS gumdrops, too.  :)

We would love for you to play along with us!

Celebrate!

Hi all!  Here's my spin on the sketch challenge MFTWSC348.  I used 3 different Ranger Oxide Inks to create a cool watercolored background then used the Celebrate Speech Bubble die to cut it out.  I used the same three inks to sponge the background, then adhered the die over the top with foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from an older set and is embossed with white ep and was cut out using an older Blueprints element.

We're Mermaid for each other

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the latest MFT sketch - MFTWSC333.   I feel in love with this BB Mermazing stamp set the second I saw it!  I did some no-line coloring on her using my Copics.  The background was created with two different Ranger Distress Inks and some water.

Create Together with Marcie - You are wonderful

Hi all!  I am here today with a card for a Create Together collaboration post with Marcie Sharp.  That girl is a hoot and super talented!  We decided on a butterfly/Spring theme so I HAD to use these newly released Paradiso Butterfly Layered dies from Birch Press Design!  Yes, the black, yellow and white parts of the butterfly here are all card stock layers.  I used foam adhesive to adhere it to some a piece of card stock I had inked with Ranger Distress Inks then spritzed with water to get the cool effect you see here.  The sentiment is from the also newly BPD released clear stamp set, Close to the Heart.  Gorgeous, people!  Simply a gorgeous set!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Be sure to check out what Marcie created for our Create Together post.  I know you'll be amazed!  :D

Get well soon

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the MFT sketch challenge as well as the current color challenge.  I totally adore this new BB Magical Dragons stamps set.  I colored him and the princess with Copics.  I sponged a piece of smooth white card stock with some Range Distress Inks, then used the an element from Blueprints 29 to cut it out.

Hello

It's me...  lol, kidding!  Hi all!  Well it is me, but certainly not Adele.  ;)  I wanted to share this card I made with some Lil' Inker Designs goodies.  The flowers are from the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set that I inked up with Ranger distress inks.  I then spritzed them with some water juuuussst enough to make the ink bleed a bit but still keeping the shape of the image.  I used the newly released Fringe Scalloped Rectangle dies that I cut down to fit over the front of an A2 card size, then added a layer of foam between it and the card base. The hello die was cut out of gold foil paper which was layered under black card stock.  The sketch is from the FMS235.

Bold Thanks

Hi all!  Yes, just what the doctor ordered - crafty time!  :D Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I took a much needed day of rest and got this card made for a two challenges:  the FMS226 sketch and current CTD382 color challenge.  The chevron background was inspired by Barbara Anders.  I used the MFT Chevron stencil and some Ranger Picked Raspberries distress ink and an aqua brush to color in the stencil.  The gold flower was cut out using the LJD Scribbles die-namics, leaving some pieces intact.  I cut the layered leaves out of green-eyed monster card stock.  The sentiment is from a retired MFT set and was embossed with white EP.

Celebrate

Hi all!  Long time, no see ;)  I've just been busy with life and work, you know how it goes!  Anywho, here's a card I made using the previous Color Throwdown Challenge colors.  I inked up the MFT Garden Flourish BG stamp with a few Ranger Distress Inks, spritzed it lightly with water, then stamped it on shimmer card stock.  The sentiment is from an older MFT set.  The scallops were done using an element from the Blueprints 9 dies.

Merry Christmas

Hi all!  Happy Friday Eve!  :D  Here's a card I made using two new TAWS sets - Point of View and Happy Everything.   One is a great background building set, the other is a great sentiment set - together they are FAB!!!  I inked the dots with distress ink, spritzed with water, then cut them out with some die-namics.  This card follows the CTS151 sketch.

Hello, Friend

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for a two challenges - CTD361 and MFTWSC247.  I first watercolored my background with two Ranger distress inks (twisted citron and mustard seed), then cut it out with the four way chevron cover up die-namic and layered it over some primitive white card stock.  I thought these gnomes could use some love, so I colored up this guy from the You Gnome Me set with Copics.  The sentiment is also from the set, except that I had to selectively ink up 'Friend' from one of the sentiments to go along with the 'Hello'.  I stamped them on one of the Blueprints 1 elements ( I used this one quite a bit!).

Sending happy your way

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the CTD358 challenge, as well as the MFT Card Design Superstar contest.  For the background, I inked up the MFT scallops stencil with some Ranger blueprint sketch distress ink, spritzed it with water, then laid a piece of smooth white card stock on top and lightly pressed all over.  I then lifted the card stock and used my heat gun to dry the ink.  I decided I wanted to add more texture so I added more water droplets, blotted a bit with a paper towel, then dried it again.  I then cut the piece out with my cross-stitch rectangle STAX and layered it over blueberry prestige card stock (which matched the ink perfectly!).  I added some circle scribble flower dies, inking up the leaves with jellybean green ink, then layered them over the embossed sentiment from the Totally Happy stamp set.  I added some BRI sequins to help add to the embellishment cluster.

May all your birthday wishes come true

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the MTWSC239 sketch challenge and also for Lydia's Dare to Get Dirty challenge.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, head over to SplitCoastStampers and check it out!  I sponged two distress inks - peacock feathers and ripe persimmon - onto smooth white card stock.  I then took the MFT Garden Flourish background stamp and spritzed it with water.  I then took the sponged card stock and layer it on top of the dampened background stamp and pressed down all over the card stock so it would soak up as much water as possible.  The layer you see is the finished (dried!) result!  Love the subtle flourish images that came through!  I then stamped the white circle layer with the same image using Blu Raspberry ink that I had stamped off once.  The sentiment is from the BB Birthday Bears set, as well as the little present that I colored with Copics then fussy cut. I love that MFT's Tropical Teal card stock coordinated so well with the peacock feathers distress ink AND that their persimmon card stock matched the ripe persimmon distress ink!  I also had some enamel dots that matched as well - score!

You splatter to me

Hi all!  Here's a card I made using the Oh Splat stamp set by TAWS.  I dampened a piece of watercolor paper, then inked my 'ink splat' images using distress inks then stamped them onto the damp paper.  Because the paper was damp, it made the ink spread.  Once I was happy with the look, I heat set it, then added my sentiment and clear sequins from Butterfly Reflections Ink.  The sketch is from the CAS133 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  AND you'll want to head over to the TAWS Blog because our Sneak Peeks started TODAY!!!  You still have time to enter win!

Make a bright wish!

Hi all!  Here's a fun card I made using a sentiment from Lite Brite with an image from the Slurp stamp set.  I made the background with two distress inks and lots of water spritzing and heat drying and more spritzing and more drying.  Fun stuff, I tell ya!  The image is embossed with black EP and I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens to color it in.  I stamped the sentiment separately onto fishtail flag STAX, leaving the ends loose then flipped them up a little just for fun.  The colors are from the CTD347 challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!  Head over to the TAWS Blog for more inspiration!  And check out yesterday's post and welcome some new designers!
