TS Monday - favorite color combo!

Hi all!   My baby turns 9 years old today!  ACK!  Where, oh where, does the time go???  I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!!!  How about a Totally Stampalicious blog challenge to help you with that??  This week the challenge is to make a card or project using your favorite color combo!  I have lots of favorites so I just looked through some of my new paper pads and went with this pretty light blue/red combo.  I love red!!  It's my favorite color to wear from clothing to lipstick to toenail polish!  I chose this STELLA for my card because, for me, this sentiment is just SO true!  She's colored with copics.  Part of the cup was paper pieced, the rest was colored with copics.  Such a pretty cup, right?!  I added faux stitching for the latest Ribbon Carousel challenge.  A trio of bling in the upper right corner {notice a pattern??  I've been adding a little trio of bling or brads to everything lately!} and some pretty satin ribbon add the finishing touches.  I love using such girly dp with these sassy stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Teaser Time day 5

Hi all!  It's day 5 of MFT Teasers which means it's A la Mode day!!!  This month, we have Firecracker a la mode and Go For Gold a la mode.  I decided to ink up the Firecracker.  Her dress and the big firecracker were paper pieced, everything else was colored with copics.  I added stickles to the spark.  She was cut out using one of the Square STAX.  I broke up one of the sentiments from the set, cutting out the first part of it with one of the mini tabs foursome die-namics.  I used the Notched Border die-namic to the main panel.  The flags to the left are a combo of the smallest die from the Traditional Tags STAX and one of the Fishtail Flags STAX.  The sketch is Karen G's SSSC159.  A couple of silver brads, white twill and faux stitching add the finishing touches.

Here's a pic of the inside...  yes, more of that Notched Border die-namic!!!  Can you tell I love it?!!

MFT Teaser Time - Day 1

Hi all!  Wahoo, it's MFT Teaser Time!!!  Brace yourselves for 7 days of O.M.Goodness moments because this release is AMAZING {but who didn't know that?!!!}!!!  First up is the Who's that Girl/Guy set, Godspeed.  I have to say that I truly love this set, having served in the military myself (AIR FORCE!) , plus my hubby has been in the AF 19 years, my brother was in the Army, a cousin was in the Coast Guard, my BIL is in the Air Force (hubby recruited him!), and a couple of uncles were in the Navy.  So yea, this set is pretty awesome in my book!  There are two images in this set.  I decided to use the Guy image.  The uniform is more of an Army one, so I stamped his left arm again, omitting the patches.  I added my own Air Force stripes then pieced the new sleeve over the other one and voila - Air Force Guy!!!  I used the new Star Stax to add extra dimension to the dp.  Lots of faux stitching and a sentiment banner using the Fishtail Flags Stax finish it up.  I kept it on the cleaner side because I'm sure we'll be needing to give this to one of hubby's coworkers {or maybe I'll need to give it to him!} sooner than later.

More Star Stax and another sentiment from the set inside...

And, because I couldn't help myself, I made a second card!  It's fairly CAS, if you call using 22 brads CAS!  I broke up another sentiment from the set {there are SEVERAL!} and stamped it onto the Traditional Tags Stax to make a banner using some twine.  These Traditional Tags Stax have a thicker border, so I trimmed off the embossed edge to make the border thinner.  The tiny stars are from the smallest Star Stax die-namics.  I love that cool Notched Border die-namic!  And yea, there was just a little piercing involved on this one, hehe!

Here's a peek at the inside...  These are the largest two Traditional Tags Stax!  Yep, just add those to your must-have list!!!  Yet another sentiment from this set and more piercing finish the inside.  This card will be perfect to slip in hubby's luggage before he leaves for one of his trips.  I'm cool like that.  ;)

MFTWSC72

***You still have two days to enter to win my Blog Candy***

Hi all!  Happy Wednesday!  Here's my take on this week's MFT sketch #72.  To say I did some distressing to my card would be an understatement!  Every single layer was distressed and sponged with SU crumb cake.  I also did some faux stitching on several layers.  I love using older sets for these sketches, so this time I broke out the Tag You're It set.  The polka dot coral butterflies under the Butterflies die-namics are from that set.  I love that little bit of coral peeking through the die-namics.  The sentiment is from the Pearls of Wisdom set and was cut out with the awesome {as in, you really must get them now, if you haven't already!} Fishtail Flags Stax.  A row of brads, bling on the butterflies and a couple of little bling clusters finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  See you soon!

MFT New Release Blog Hop!

Hello!!! Welcome to the MFT New Release Blog Hop!!! Sooo, what did you buy?!?! ;) So many wonderful things, I don't know if I could resist! For my "last hoorah", I'm featuring the new Teacher a la mode. Those a la modes are just FABULOUS!!! I made yet another teacher gift set.

Here's a close up of the card. I just LOVE it, if I may say! She was colored with copics.

Here's a close up of the tag I made with the Fishtail Flags Stax. I stamped one of the sentiments directly to the canvas strip that was easily cut out with the Fishtail Flags Stax.

Here's a peek at the inside of the card... yep, more Stax!!!! They're here, they're wonderful, get USED to it!!! HA!

Thanks AGAIN for stopping by!!! Y'all are awesome!!! Enjoy your new MFT goodies!!! See you soon!

Happy Birthday!

And Happy New Year!!! Hope everyone had fun ringing in the new year! Here's a long 9 1/4" x 4" card I made for the latest MFT guest designer challenge which is to paper piece! My birthday was yesterday (yes, on New Years' and yes, my mother calls me her hangover and no, we're not going to discuss what age I am now! ha!) so why not make a birthday card?! The PIs I used are Hello Cupcake, Crazy for Daisies (inside) and Aim High. The sentiment and little frog are from the Feeling Froggy PI set. I used the Flat Bottom Clouds dienamics to cut out the blue dp then filled the cut outs with white corrugated flat bottom clouds. The Branches with leaves dienamic was perfect to have the Mini Pennant "Happy Birthday" banners hanging from, which is stamped using the Banner day alpha.

Now for some detail shots... here you can see that I stamped the cherry onto textured cardstock and added glossy accents to make it shine. I also hand cut every. single. sprinkle. on that cupcake! The frosting was stamped onto a "chocolate" textured cardstock then layered on the polka dot dp cupcake "liner".

Her shoes were also stamped on and cut out of textured cardstock. The "grass" was cut out using the medium simply scallops dienamic.

This sweet girl has two different dp's used on her dress and look! Her socks match the top half of her dress, then I pieced her white shoes on top of those and added more glossy accents to them so it looks like she's wearing some darling patent leather shoes. Also, you can see that sweet little frog has also been paper pieced and has glossy accents on him because after all, frogs are shiny, right?!

And now on the inside I used the First Class Friend dienamic for the sentiment which is accented by a line of silver pearls.

Little Miss Crazy for Daisies has her dress paper pieced using two different dp's, as well. Her shoes were also cut out using textured cardstock.

Silver brads on the front and faux stitching inside and out finish everything off. Thanks a ton for stopping by! Here's to a CRAFTY and EXCITING new year!!!

Thankful

Hi! Here's a card I made for the MFT weekly sketch challenge #40. There's nothing more inspiring than using new goodies, right?! Love this a la mode with that big ol' pumpkin! She's colored with copics and marvys and the pumpkin was paper pieced. The sentiment was cut out using the fishtail banner dienamics. I also used the new postage stamp edge dienamic and one of the dizzy doily dienamics. Faux stitching and a button with some twine finish it up.

Thanks for stopping by!

A little something...

Here's a card I made for the Verve challenges last week. Love this lil' gal!!! And how 'bout those designer papers?! Yum-o! They're all from an October Afternoon pack. I'm sure you're familiar with them, I've seen them on all my fave blogs lately! This little gal is from The Greeting Farm. She's colored w/ copics and is popped up on dimensionals. A little faux stitching finishes everything off.
Hope you're all enjoying your summer! Now, I MUST go get ready for our yard sale that we're having tomorrow! Wish us lots of sales!!! ;)

Amethyst aliens are here!

This was made for the CDS August Guest Designer Challenge! This is an 8x4 card. I colored the spaceship w/ copics and the aliens w/ SU markers. I rarely use my Amethyst cs, so I thought, hmmm, why not some little purple aliens! The spaceship is up on pop dots. The square brads had a pewter like finish, but I colored them w/ a black slick writer and like that they ended up looking dark purplish. Lots of faux stitching to finish it off.
Thanks for looking!!!!

What have you done this summer?

I don't know about you, but I've been soaking up a little bit sun lately. We've had a little break from baseball (Hallelujah!!!) and have enjoyed taking it easy. We'll be heading out of town for a few days, but not to worry ~ I'll have some auto posts set up for the rest of the week ;}. On to the card~
I colored Charlie, or is it Charlene, w/ copic and SU markers. The grass was done w/ a copic, then I drew lines on it (so it looked 'grassier') w/ my olive SU marker. The sky was done by sponging using turquoise ink. This also uses some of the new SU In Color cardstock (love that some of them match this new Basic Grey dp called Lemonade!). Hope you like it and OH!!! Go check out what the CDS Design Team is up to ~ August Sneak Peeks!!!!!!! Too cute!!!!!!!!

2nd day of Elzy sneaks!

What do you think of Elzy's wallpaper?? Hehe, yes, it took a bit of work, but I just HAD to paper piece this image! I love this little dinkie! I colored her "rollers" orange because they remind me of the real orange juice cans my mom used to roll her hair in! I'm talking the ones from the early 70s that were hard metal! She would sleep in them and then in the morning, take them out one by one, blow drying each section as she did it, so her hair was super straight. It's naturally very curly, but she didn't used to like wearing it that way. Ok, on to the card!
The rest of her was colored w/ either copics or SU markers. The card base was cuttlebugged. I faux stiched on the celery squares, which, by the way, match better w/ the "wallpaper" than this photo shows. The sentiment is up on dimensionals. Thanks for peeking in! Tomorrow will be the final day of peeks and also *RELEASE DAY*!!!!

An Elzybell recipe challenge

This weeks' Elzybell challenge is a recipe ~ we were to use one piece of ribbon, one circle and one embellishment. I hope it's ok that I used 7 of my "one embellishment" ~ after I finished the card, I thought that maybe I was only supposed to use one embellishment total! Oh well!! The Spring Cube image is up on dimensionals. I faux stitched on the kiwi layer and used my new border punch on the white layer (love those new punches!). The sentiment is from the Mini Tag set. Hope ya like it and check out what the rest of the dt did ~ HERE!!!!!!!!!!

Elzybell sneak peek day 3!!

Ok, don't freak out, but I actually used Orchid Opulence on this card (some people are not big fans of this SU color!)!!! I think it goes pretty well w/ bashful blue. I used watercolor pencils and an aquapainter pen to color in this sweet little teddy. My oldest son asked if he was supposed to be Winnie the Pooh, hehe! Used my label 1 nesties (love 'em!) and added piercing and faux stitching around the orchid layer and then adhered it with pop dots. For the gingham, I used a craft knife and cut a small slit next to the main image and threaded it through so it's actually behind the orchid layer. The "x's" and "o's" and sentiment are also new and will be available tomorrow on the Elzybell site!!!! WAHOOOOO!!!! Thanks for checking in! I'm working on a couple more cards and hope to have at least one more posted later!
