TS Monday - celebrate summer!

Hi all!  Happy Monday!  This week over at the Totally Stampalicious blog, we are challenging you to create a card or project celebrating summer!  Now, my sweet Party Penguin might not be exactly summer-ish, but he's definitely celebrating!  I colored him with copics then cut him out using my Circle STAX.  That green dotted strip is washi tape.

I added some stars die-namics and three little orange mini brads on the lower left corner to finish it up.  Thanks for stopping by!

TS Monday - Christmas in July

Hi all and happy Monday!  This week on the Totally Stampalicious blog, we're continuing the Bugaboo Christmas in July celebration by challenging you to make yet another Christmas project!  For my card, I've inked up the Deacon Elf.  He's so sweet and fun to color, I couldn't resist!  I fussy cut him and popped him up on pop dots.  The sentiment is from the Winter bird Snowman image.  I added some swirly bling to add to that 'magical' feeling, as the sentiment says.  The sketch is the SC393 on SCS.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great week!  And yes, that dotted tutorial is coming - promise, promise!  These boys are keeping me busy this summer!  ;)

Totally Stampalicious Monday challenge

Hi all!  This week, the Totally Stampalicious team and I are challenging you to use your FAVE embellishment!!!  This adorable Sean Dog image was already inked up, so how could I resist using it?  If you were to ask what my fave embellie is, the first thing I'd say is piercing!!!!  I'm not sure that it really qualifies as an embellishment, but to me, it definitely does because it just adds the. perfect. touch. when I'm not sure what else to add.  Second on my list would be brads!  And then there are my die-namics.  {loving *sigh*}  They're embellishments, right?!?!  Really, they would be #1 on my list but again, do they qualify??  Ha, thinking too much about it!  My image was colored with copics, then I drew in some grass and added dirt using that dotted technique (tutorial coming THIS WEEK!).  I also used some MFT clouds as a mask to sponge in the sky.

Detail shot...  forgot to mention my love of twine!  :)

And the inside...  I love adding my scraps to dress up the inside of a card.  The border I used on the inside is the negative of the border I attached to the front of the card.  And the star on the inside is a leftover from the stacking stars die-namic.

Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon!

MFTWSC76

Hi all!  A little late, but here's my card for the MFT WSC76.  The only stamping I did was the sentiment which is from the Homespun Birdhouse set and die-namics.  When I saw this sketch, I knew I wanted to use this little plane from the You Move Me set and die-namics so that it looked like it was flying by with a message. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

MFT Teaser Time - Day 4

Hi all and welcome to Day 4 of MFT Teasers!!!  Oh, do we have some FUN stuff for you today!  We have two ultra cool sets WITH matching die-namics!!!!  They are the Masculine Graphic Tee Die-namics and Stamp Set and the Vanity License Plate Die-namics and Stamp Set!!!  I decided to go with the Masculine Graphic Tee die-namics and set.  With Father's day around the corner, I'm happy to say that hubby's card is D.O.N.E!  I thought it would be fun to make a tent topper card (directions are on Splitcoast).  The olive card base is 4x4, so I adhered the Tee about 1 1/4 inches so that it would still fit into a standard A2 envie. {that is before I added the hexagons on the sides, but since it's going to hubby, no envie needed!}  I cut the Tee twice - once in the yellowish dp you see and a second time in brown so that I could cut off the embossed edges of the sleeves and collar to make a ringer tee.  I LOVE the news Hexagons die-namics for using up scraps!!!  Squares are now SUPER easy to cut with the new Squares STAX 1 and 2, both of which I used here.  I'm so thrilled with the thin border they leave when used together!

Here's a detail shot of the Stacking Stars die-namics I used to dress up the card even more - they were already tucked in between some pages of this paper pad, so why not use them?!  A button, some thread and two rows of piercing finish it up.

And a peek at the inside {which was hard to get a pic of because of the Tee so I'm just holding the front of the card up ;) }...  More sentiments from the set and a strip of the negative from the Notched Border die-namic {yea, I'm slightly addicted to it!}.

MFT Teaser Time - Day 1

Hi all!  Wahoo, it's MFT Teaser Time!!!  Brace yourselves for 7 days of O.M.Goodness moments because this release is AMAZING {but who didn't know that?!!!}!!!  First up is the Who's that Girl/Guy set, Godspeed.  I have to say that I truly love this set, having served in the military myself (AIR FORCE!) , plus my hubby has been in the AF 19 years, my brother was in the Army, a cousin was in the Coast Guard, my BIL is in the Air Force (hubby recruited him!), and a couple of uncles were in the Navy.  So yea, this set is pretty awesome in my book!  There are two images in this set.  I decided to use the Guy image.  The uniform is more of an Army one, so I stamped his left arm again, omitting the patches.  I added my own Air Force stripes then pieced the new sleeve over the other one and voila - Air Force Guy!!!  I used the new Star Stax to add extra dimension to the dp.  Lots of faux stitching and a sentiment banner using the Fishtail Flags Stax finish it up.  I kept it on the cleaner side because I'm sure we'll be needing to give this to one of hubby's coworkers {or maybe I'll need to give it to him!} sooner than later.

More Star Stax and another sentiment from the set inside...

And, because I couldn't help myself, I made a second card!  It's fairly CAS, if you call using 22 brads CAS!  I broke up another sentiment from the set {there are SEVERAL!} and stamped it onto the Traditional Tags Stax to make a banner using some twine.  These Traditional Tags Stax have a thicker border, so I trimmed off the embossed edge to make the border thinner.  The tiny stars are from the smallest Star Stax die-namics.  I love that cool Notched Border die-namic!  And yea, there was just a little piercing involved on this one, hehe!

Here's a peek at the inside...  These are the largest two Traditional Tags Stax!  Yep, just add those to your must-have list!!!  Yet another sentiment from this set and more piercing finish the inside.  This card will be perfect to slip in hubby's luggage before he leaves for one of his trips.  I'm cool like that.  ;)

Thinking of you

***Enter to win my Blog Candy***

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for two challenges on SCS - the Free 4 All challenge to make a small tall card and yesterday's CAS challenge - to make a trio panel.  This flower is from the Inspired by Flowers set #4 by MFT, which I colored with copics.  It was cut out with the vertical greetings die-namic.  The sentiment is from the same set and was cut out using the Fishtail Flags Stax.  I also stamped the flower twice using versamark ink directly onto the card base behind the main image.  Piercing and a big silver brad finish it up!

Blue Jay?

***You still have time to win my Blog Candy***

Hi all!  Here's a card I made for the Sketch Challenge and Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS this week.    I'm pretty sure this bird isn't a Blue Jay, but I really wanted to color him that way and use these designer papers, so here he is!  The bird and sentiment are both from the MFT set Inspired by Spring.  Their Inspired By sets are just beautiful!!!  I lightly colored him with copics, taking advantage of the shading on the stamp.  I've been wanting to try the two-tone effect I've seen around using the Mini Rolled Roses die-namic.    I love how it turned out!  I also added some Leafy Flourishes.  The sentiment was cut out using the Oval Tab.  A little bling and some piercing finish it off.

Detail shot of mini rolled roses...

To say I had a blast making this card is an understatement! Here is PI Policewoman! I used the Circle Stax to make the traffic light. Once again, I used the Fishtail Flags Stax for the sentiment.

For the inside I added another sentiment from the set which I realized went with the You Move Me stamp set and die-namics. I just love how MFT sets and die-namics work so well with each other!!!

Snow Much Love in blue

Hi ya! Here's a card I made for the latest Mojo sketch and for Sue's VSN challenge on SCS, which is to make a Christmas card using blues. I just love this newly released Frosty stamp by MFT! He's colored with copics and is up on pop dot. The sentiment, also from that set, was cut out using a Verve oval die. I added a MS punched snowflake and brad. A little piercing around the popped up main layer and done!

Thanks for stopping by! See you in the morning with a new Totally Stampalicious blog challenge!

A Verve Thank you

Hi y'all! Hope everyone's having a great weekend! It has been H-O-T!!! And watching 6, yes, 6 baseball games in the heat can really wear ya out!!! Don't worry, they were split up - our oldest played 2 on Friday, our middle one played 2 on Saturday and they each had one today. Yep, I'm ready for a nap, hehe!
I made this card for the Verve new release challenge. What's sweet is that I actually WON a gift certificate for Verve!!!! Yippee!!! Any suggestions on a set or two or three??!! They're all sooo pretty, I'm having a hard time deciding. Anyway, I also used this week's color combo challenge ~ amethyst, apricot and suede. I made a set of 5 cards using these colors because 1. amethyst and apricot are soon-to-be retired colors from SU, so I might as well use it up and 2. now I have a sweet little set of cards as a teachers' gift for next year! Nope, I don't normally plan this for ahead, but I'm come to realize that I NEED to start!!! Pretty simple card, but love how it turned out. I really like the texture behind the sentiment layer.
Thanks for stopping by!

Another card, yay!

Hi again! Here's a card I made using this weeks' sketch challenge. I decided to use the same color combo as the last card since I hardly use mellow moss anymore. I love this Upsy Daisy set! I used my SU markers to color the image. The sentiment is from Trendy Trees but I broke it up to suit the sketch. Lots of piercing and some brads finish it up.
Thanks for popping in!

Have a great weekend!

A Flourishes sketch card

I know, I know, calm down! I posted a card! We had spring break last week and though I didn't get to stamp every day, I did make a few cards and it was sooo nice! We stayed local, enjoyed the weather, played 2-hand touch football (which reminded just how out of shape I am!), got some yard work done and just chilled. Has this year not flown by? Someone said that we only have 50 days of school left! Crazy! Ok, on to the card stuff...
In case you weren't aware, I totally *love* Flourishes! Their stamps, their dt, the company - they're just fab in my book! This week, they had a sketch as their weekly challenge. I didn't intend to have this image used as the left side of the circle, but once I colored it and cut it down, it was just too big for the middle of the sketch. I think you can click on the picture to get an up close look at the image. Coloring images is so therapeutic for me! The middle of the sentiment is popped up w/ a pop dot, that's why it looks like it's not flat, because, well, it's not! ;) Was going for that banner effect. I wanted to add something to the card base, so went w/ the swirly embossing folder and pierced on the top and bottom of the design.
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!!!

Ok, I realize I'm 5 days late, but lookeee ---->>> I stamped!
And if felt sooo good! ;} This is part of a set that I made as a teachers' birthday gift. I got this Flight of the Butterfly set months ago, but this is the first time it's seen ink. Used the sketch from last weeks' challenge on SCS and just kept things simple since I hadn't stamped in so long. The yummy kraft cardstock is from Elzybell's. Love it! And yes, the butterfly is popped up on a dimensional.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that 2010 brings many blessings! We had a very nice Christmas and New Year. Nice and relaxing. Now it's back to work but I made a promise to myself to stamp more! Can't really buy new stuff if I'm not using what's sitting in my craft room! Well, yes, I know I could, but I feel better if I'm using what I already own, kwim?? Thanks for checking in - hope I haven't lost too many of you!

Multi challenge waterlily card

Ok, here's the run down of all the challenges this card was made for:

FTTC25 ~ add shimmer
CC228 ~ pink, rust, navy
WT228 ~ add a charm
DTDG09KrystieLee ~ add something clear
DTGD09eggette ~ something w/ wings
DTGD09Becca_Stamps ~ use die cuts/punches
DTGD09Lauraly ~ use ribbon
DTGD09One_Happy_Stamper ~ this sketch

Yep, that's 8 challenges on one card!!!! Everything just seemed so easy to add, that it just all fell together. The waterlilies were spritzed w/ Gold Glimmer Mist (I don't have any Shimmerz). The stamped using my navy marker, then again in versamark and embossed w/ clear ep. The gems are clear domes. Not much of the rust on here, but I used a rust marker on my flowers (click on the picture and you may be able to tell). Thanks for stopping by! I'm working on more Dare To Get Dirty challenges and will have some Clear Dollar Stamps card to post soon, so don't go far!
