Make Waves

Hi all!  First let me send out a prayer to all of those dealing with the aftermath of Harvey.  I have family in Louisiana and lots of friends in the Katy/Houston area and it is just breaking my heart to see what they're having to deal with.  Praying the rain stops and the water recedes quickly!

Ok, here's a card I made using the Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Bliss set.  I colored her with Copics then fussy cut her.  The background was created by adhering the hexagon shaped pieces from the Hexagon Cover Plate to the card base.  I love the texture it adds!  I added a few sequins and a sentiment from the Mermaid Song set to finish it off.

Happy Flowery Birthday

Hi all!  I'm here with a very feminine birthday card using the Honey Bee Stamps set, Country Blooms.  I randomly stamped the flowers onto watercolor paper then embossed them with white embossing powder.  I colored them with my Zig pens, blending with water and a paint brush.  I then added some silver cord behind the sentiment from the Happy Everything stamp set.  I added the yellow background to make it work for the CTD457.

Pretty in Pink

HI all!  Happy Thursday - yes, I'm posting a day late ;)   Almost Friday!!!  I have a pretty in pink Hello card for you today using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:  Lotus Blossom stamp and matching die, A2 Double Stitched Frames die, and the Hello dies.  This little stamp sure can pack a big punch when embossed!  I embossed the outer edge of my pink lemonade card base, then added a few extra around the sentiment.  I love the layered Hello dies - such a cool look!  I added a few sequins to the Lotus tucked under the 'hello'.

Happy flowery birthday

Hi all!  I'm here with some flowery-goodness using the Honey Bee Stamps set, Country Blooms.  I'm kinda totally obsessed with this set.  ;)  I colored them with Copics then used the matching dies to cut everything out.  I used the smallest of the Hexagon Layering Background Stencils to sponge in some color on the layer directly behind the flowers and sentiment.  The sentiment is from the Happy Everything stamp set - I loooove the mix of fonts!

You are Fintastic

Hi all!  Well, we're halfway through the week - we can DO this!  ;)

So I have to say that this has to be in my top 20, maybe top 10, favorite cards that I've ever made!  It makes me so happy when I get an idea and the finished project turns out better than imagined.  The new Honey Bee Stamps set, Mermaid Song, is a large set with so many possibilities!  This mermaid is a good size, perfect for taking center stage of any card!  I colored her with Copics then fussy cut her and layered her over a smooth white card base that I had sponged with two blue inks, Blu Raspberry and Blueberry, and spritzed with water.  I curved the 'fintastic' sentiment for more interest.

Smile...

Hi all!  I have a cheery little rainbow card for you today because seriously, who doesn't love rainbows??  I embossed the new Honey Bee Stamps Ocean Borders background stamp with white embossing powder over a piece of watercolor paper that I had watercolored with various inks.  Who says that background can only be used for waves? ;)  I think used the Smile die and backed it with white glittered paper using foam adhesive.  The sentiment is from the Smile stamp set and is also embossed with white embossing powder onto black card stock.

Salty Kisses & Mermaid Wishes

Hi all!  I'm back with another mermaid card because HOW CUTE are these new Honey Bee stamps!  I colored the Ocean Bliss mermaid with Copics.  She is popped up on foam adhesive over a background that I created by sponging two different blue inks onto watercolor card stock then spritzed with water.  The sentiments are from the larger set, Mermaid Song and are embossed with white embossing powder onto black licorice card stock.  I also added the crab and starfish from the Mermaid Song set.  :)  I'd love to know what your favorite set is from the new release!

Honey Bee Stamps New Release Blog Hop!

Hi all!  It's FINALLY here!  Welcome to the Honey Bee Stamps Blog Swim!  It's an ocean-themed release so yes, we're having a swim, not a hop!  Everything is available for purchase Now in our shop HERE.  And we're going to Shellabrate with some sweet prizes! ;)  TWO lucky winners will each receive a $50 gift certificate to the Honey Bee store!  All you have to do is comment on the Honey Bee stamps Blog, as well as all of the other designers, by July 16th.  Winners will be announced July 17th at Noon PST.  The fun gets started on the Honey Bee Blog HERE!

My first card features the lovely Mermaid Song stamp set.  I love that this image is so big.  This card measures about 4 1/2 x 4 1/2, to give you an idea.  I stamped it on watercolor paper then used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens to color everything in.  I added the Hello dies (cut out with Blu Raspberry and Smooth White card stocks) without trying to cover up too much of the image.

For my second card, I used the sweet Ocean Bliss stamp set.  I colored the mermaid with Copics then covered the rock with Desert Oasis Sand.  I love the texture the sand adds to the finished card!  The 'waves' were hand cut from vellum and white card stock.  I used Copics on the backside of the vellum to color in the waves.  I also curved the 'Wish you were' part of the sentiment to go with the curve of my 'sun'.

Next up on the Blog Swim is Bibi!  Remember to comment along the way for your chance to WIN!

Washi Tape Hello

Hi all!  Yay, we're halfway to Friday!  :D  Here's a pretty simple no-stamping card using Honey Bee Stamps Zen Bouquet Washi Tape and their Hello die.  I also used two of the A2 Double Stitched Frames Dies to cut out the smooth white card stock and the washi tape background layer.  The 'hello' was cut out then I layered the white card stock over it with foam adhesive to cover it up ;)

Hello

Hi all!  I hope you all had a great 4th of July yesterday!  I'm back with another Honey Bee Stamps card today!  The Country Blooms set is just Gorgeous!  I colored them with Copics then used the matching dies to cut them out.  I layered them around two of the Hello Honey Cuts - one in black card stock, the other in vellum.  I love adding background dies in the same card stock as my card base - just a little extra texture and interest without taking away from the main images.  Here, I used the middle Hexagon Cover Plate.

Sending you a Smile

Hi all!  I'm so excited to be sharing my first Honey Bee Stamps card as a member of their Social Media Design Team!  I'll be posting every Wednesday so be on the look out ;)

For my card, I colored up the pretty little Lotus Blossom flower and used the matching die to cut it.  The sweet 2x2 stamp is just SO cute!  I colored it with copics.  I stamped part of the sentiment from the Smile stamp set onto smooth white card stock that I cut out with one of the A2 Double Stitched Frame dies.  I stamped 'Smile' with Versamark then embossed with silver embossing powder, then die cut it with the matching die.  A clear mini sequin dots the 'i'.  Everything is layered over my grout gray card base that was sponged with one of the Hexagon Layering Background Stencils.
